Since the time I saw her in a small club in Cambridge and she sat down and talked to me about her life in Alaska, and told me that she'd soon have a cd out that I could buy, instead of the $5.00 tape she was selling. I've seen her live a few times. She has always been very expressive and emotional when she sings. True, the Leno show was a little strange there in the middle, she went a little nuts, and shall I say "slightly" off key. But what I got from this performance is that Jewel did just what she wanted to do with Foolish Games. Sure, she was twitchy and whatnot, but I really feel she sang this way out of either boredom with this song or just the chance to experiment with it. I admired this muchly. She alluded to the fact that she is somewhat sick of her music. ANd who wouldn't be. These songs are old, old, old, and she hasn't been allowed to record any new music, of which she has plenty. I think she was ballsy to have sung this way. Now, don't forget, when my son, ol' man reggae becomes famous, Be Kind :-) Judy - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger To buy Paula merchandise from Paula(!) try: http://pw2.netcom.com/~ilml/pcmerch.html Digest, further unsub and problems FAQ at: http://www.netaxs.com/~jgreshes/lists/harbinger.html For This Fire kinda-lyrics write Riphug@aol.com All footer, all the time...never shaved. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 31 Jan 1998 16:08:25 EST From: Momrox1@aol.com Subject: (harbinger) Paula shirt Hey all- Anybody know what kind of dog is on the front of the Paula t shirt that is described on the Paula merchandise page as dog t shirt?? I guess I'm qualified to venture a guess, although only Paula could give us the definitive answer, since she made the drawing. I showed my Shepherd mix, and all could say was a blas=E9 "woof." Looks like a Border Collie/Terrier mix, judging by the coloring, nose and ears. The list is fairly comprehensive, however, it shows only what I have in my own collection at this time. At present, there is very little of what has been available over the past few years that I haven't accumulated, so I think most of it is mentioned, including commercially-released albums and singles, compilation appearances, guest appearances, soundtrack appearances, CD bootlegs, promotional releases and miscellaneous independent recordings. Please note that non-U.S. releases of albums or some singles do not appear in this discography, unless the cover art differs from country to country and that amateur bootlegs are omitted unless they are available in CD format. I have created the discography in WordPerfect 7.0 table format and in ASCII straight text format. Please indicate which you would prefer to receive when you write to me. I've found that some older computer systems are unable to read the table format. However, if you can support tables, it is definitely the more readable of the two versions. I realize that not everyone on the list will be interested in this, but, if there are others (besides myself and Ruediger) who are trying to fill out their Paula Cole collection, I thought this might be of assistance to them. Peace.
