Hi all, First and foremost I'd like to congratulate Phil on the clearing of his name in this manner. As I'm sure you know, none of us on this list ever doubted you. You have proven over and over again, both in e-mail and in person at shows, that you are, as Paula put it, "gentle, kind, loyal and truthful". While I cannot imagine what it would be like to be in this kind of negative public spotlight, my heart goes out to you and your family. I continue to wish you nothing but the best in this matter and in life in general. Also, I'd like to say how much MORE respect I have for Paula now. As the press release said, she could have easily distanced herself from this, but instead chose to stay very close to it. This proves to me that she is not only an amazing musician, but an amazing person. The February issue is already on the stands and she's not in there. I have found a company that sells back issues of the mag and will order a copy for myself, but I just want to make sure that I'm getting the right one. Help? Also... this question goes out to our European and Asian brethren (and sistren) on the list: For those in Japan: Please describe the cover art on the Japanese releases of the albums, Harbinger and This Fire, and the single of Where Have All The Cowboys Gone. Please also give the track listing for the Cowboys single. For those in the UK: Please describe the cover art of the British releases of the albums, Harbinger and This Fire, and the singles of Where Have All The Cowboys Gone? and I Don't Want To Wait. Please also give the track listing for the singles. For those in the Netherlands: Please describe the cover art of the Dutch releases of the albums, Harbinger and This Fire. Heya, In the Lilith Faire interviews (those 'on the road' reports,) Paula mentions have been a singer in several different bands during her Berkeley days (including a jazz band) ... but nothing specific. I really want to see that Wedding Video!!! I wonder if the owner would let me capture a copy of the band performing to RealVideo? Heehee! Paula's voice is very nicely featured. it is a slow mellow song, and Paula sounds very much like herself. (in comparison to autumn leaves where i dont really hear her full Paulaness) also featured in the song is a muted trumpet, giving it a not quite smokey feel, but in that direction. they followed it with the patti griffen duet which also was very nice and of the same tone, including muted trumpet. for those who are drooling, and impatient.....i taped it on the hi fi vcr which dubs down nice cassettes. if you want to send me a blank and postage i will give it my immediate attention, and send it back filled asap. e-mail me for my address if you want it. wow they just played a duet with peter gabrial and joni mitchell, i didn't know there was such a thing. world cafe is a great show, are any of y'all out there fans of it also? it airs on pbs stations, and everynight they have a live guest if not 2. Paula has been on it twice. david dye has very eclectic taste, and good judgement. - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger To buy Paula merchandise from Paula(!) try: http://pw2.netcom.com/~ilml/pcmerch.html Digest, further unsub and problems FAQ at: http://www.netaxs.com/~jgreshes/lists/harbinger.html For This Fire kinda-lyrics write Riphug@aol.com All footer, all the time...never shaved. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Jan 1998 23:47:07 EST From: Riphug Subject: (harbinger) WHATCG revisited I hate to do this to you, folks......but my best friend is arguing with a co- worker over the meaning of the lyrics to WHATCG. Can someone write to me and tell me what Paula said about that song? I've read her explanation and others' interpretations, but don't have them filed away for handy reference. Thanks.....
