It sounds like this...."quiet girls can crank, too as Boston's JT deftly displayed ..an opening set of sinuous rock tunes..deeply edgy, sometimes offbeat rock terrain Trynin investigates on the album and traversed onstage.....Hers is a punk sensibility infused with cool lucidity and a delicately screaming guitar and is worth checking out." .....................Jean - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger To buy Paula merchandise from Paula(!) try: http://pw2.netcom.com/~ilml/pcmerch.html Digest, further unsub and problems FAQ at: http://www.netaxs.com/~jgreshes/lists/harbinger.html For This Fire kinda-lyrics write Riphug@aol.com All footer, all the time...never shaved. - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger To buy Paula merchandise from Paula(!) try: http://pw2.netcom.com/~ilml/pcmerch.html Digest, further unsub and problems FAQ at: http://www.netaxs.com/~jgreshes/lists/harbinger.html For This Fire kinda-lyrics write Riphug@aol.com All footer, all the time...never shaved. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 17 Dec 1997 11:06:24 +0200 From: sstewart@NTCGEN01HE.ntc.nokia.com (Stewart Steven NTC/INP-He) Subject: (harbinger) Finn Ramble... I know this has nothing at all to do with Paula, but it made me laugh. "BARBIE GIRL'S TRANSLATION TOPS CHARTS IN MALAYSIA: Danish pop sensations AQUA are surprised the smash hit BARBIE GIRL has reached the number one spot in Malaysia. In Malaysian, Aqua translates as transvestite, and Barbie as pig. Singer LENE NYSTROM says "Perhaps they like the idea of a transvestite pig." I am not sure if these tunes have reached the states yet, but I think they are worth checking out. Denmark's Anouk is a feisty blonde who seems a cross between Janis Joplin and Alanis. Her song "Nobody's Wife" is currently on MTV Europe a lot. I like it. Natalie Imbregulia (I'm sure I spelled that wrong) has a cool song called "Torn" which is one of my current faves. I guess the closest thing would be Everything But the Girl type of music. It doesn't hurt that she is quite attractive. ;) Paula's "I don't want to wait" has never to my knowledge appeared on the Europe MTV. I think Cowboys was only on for a month (if that.) I know that her music is actually catching on at least in Scandinavia, since I have heard IDWTW and Cowboys on the radio in Finland and Sweden. I would think that her style and music would be really accepted in Europe. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to try to get her video played? Lastly, for those in arizona, I had a Christian artist record three of my Christian songs (much different than what I do for my rock band "Shoot the Mime"). Currently, the album is only available in Arizona (Mesa) with a limited release extending over the next year to other states. The artist is Jenee Wright and the album is called Believe. Her style is similar to Sandi Patty without the over orchestration. Most of the album is unplugged/acoustic/piano.
