Finally! The current issue of the ME/Sounds magazine here in Germany features an article about female US singers - and yes, they mention Paula in a few lines. Germans might want to have a look at it. Sad news regarding the scans of my photographs from Cologne: I've been trying for two days now to upload them to my new server via FTP, but I can't get a connection. BMG has a web site where you can join and get a bunch of free cds, for very little obligation, or just purchase them if you are a member already. i dont know what there international policy is, but if there is anyone out there unable to get Paula's music , maybe this is an option for you. www.bmgmusicservice.com i like them as a way of getting music, when all is said and done about taxes and freight etc thier prices are very good. they are especially good for people interested in classical music which usually has very poor selection at most stores . if they have any at all, list price 17/18 dollars each is the norm in most stores , where as BMG averages out at 10 dollars a disc. enough free advertising for them, i hope this is some use to those of you outside civilization.( just kidding about the civilization part) :-) - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger Digest, further unsub and problems FAQ at: http://www.netaxs.com/~jgreshes/lists/harbinger.html For This Fire kinda-lyrics write Riphug@aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 Nov 1997 08:57:44 -0500 (EST) From: Honoku@aol.com Subject: Re: (harbinger) Ordering Bootlegs... thanks for the ordering information, 30 dollars delivered is not a bad price. - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger Digest, further unsub and problems FAQ at: http://www.netaxs.com/~jgreshes/lists/harbinger.html For This Fire kinda-lyrics write Riphug@aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 26 Nov 1997 08:47:37 -0500 (EST) From: Honoku@aol.com Subject: Re: (harbinger) ani difranco news (fwd) thanks so much for the Ani update, more Ani is always good news. i saw Susan Mckeowns name mentioned at the end of the post and her most recent ep, but did not understand the message. i love love love Susan, i was beginning to think i was her only fan, a great live show for any one who has an opportunity to see her. i have seen her 3 times so far and look forward to as many more times as i can. She was also in the band Knots and Crosses.....this band was amazing. This is how I found Carol Noonan. The band broke up about 2 years ago but you can still find their CD's "curve of the earth" made in 1993 my personal fave and "creatures of habit" recorded in 1991. Best song for my would have to be the title track "creatures of habit". By the way Carol wrote or co-wrote most of the songs for the band. Now after write this I must run out and buy the new Carol Noonan CD. Oh by the way the band and Carol are from the state of Maine......Carol plays in clubs and coffeehouses in the New england area alot......I have not had a chance to see her live but I'm sure she would be amazing. Thanks for puting up the page and I will look forward to the next group of photos. Paula works so hard touring, making the BIG effort to get out to see all of us where ever we are... I just think were are pretty lucky. I know that she has been though my hometown in Columbus 3 times in the last year and she is better every time. I feel bad for those of you who had the bad experience in Myrtle Beach. I get really frustrated with impolite concert goers as well. I hope you have better luck next time. Still, I believe Paula is a pretty good bet when you are spending your hard earned concert dollars.... she just works soooooo hard, I can't say that enough. Just a quick thought on the show in Columbus on Nov. 17. Paula was amazing, maybe the best show I have ever seen. The venue was the Capital theatre and its my favorite place to see a concert. The sound is wonderful. I think Paula was happy too. She comented that it was nice to have graduated from Ludlows (a large Bar/club). I have seen several of her shows at Ludlows and its just a totally different (not all bad, just different) game than going to a nice theatre with reserved seats and all of that. I continue to be drawn in by the energy of the entire show but in paticular by Hitler's Brothers. I am pretty charged up by the time she gets to HB and am pumping my fist in the air when she belts out "hatred only kills your soul". That is a special moment for me everytime. It was also pretty special to get another treat after Jolene. The whole french production was enchanting. I called it "post Jolene bliss" something only Paula fans would understand . I was one happy man (but spent) when it was all over. I liked the Autumn Leaves song on the "midnight in the garden of good and evil" soundtrack. Its a cool song..... I am loving a new album I have by Beth Orton, Harbingers may like her music so if you have not heard it look out for that one, its called "Trailer Park". Jen Trynin was having flu troubles when they came through Columbus but she was very winning in her performance. 3 days later I was hacking and sneezing with the same symptoms. Maybe I am carrying a small part of her with me still... Now I am not complaining ..... I bought her CD after the show. I don't want to badger anyone about it but I am one of those people who does not believe the buying or selling of bootlegs is appropriate. I don't want to pick a fight with anyone and don't expect anyone to change their opinions because of what I say. I have not seen many post that make the point so I guess that I am in the minorty but anyway here goes... It just seems that Paula works so hard to provide us with alot of "product" concerts, tv, CD's etc. It's kinda like stealing from Paula to buy something bootleged without her getting royalties. Selling music is how she makes a living and its out of respect for her copyrights that I don't get into those things. Thats just my opinion.... I just wanted to say that one thing as nicely as I could and I am going to feel bad if it leads to any flaming in either direction of the issue. (just send it to me privatly bmitchh@netexp.net) Peace and love to all Harbingers bootlegers and all. I am glad that Paula will be taking some time off soon, its well earned.
