What a knockout performance and nice arrangement. I disagree that the Eastwood track is bad...I thought it was fine. But I remember listening to Clint sing "Paint Your Wagon" from my mom's old LPs when I was a baby, so I guess I am used to his singing voice. Fun album. When did Paula record the track? I must have missed something, since I only heard about the track a few weeks ago. Is the gossip line down? :) Sad to hear that the IDWTW on Letterman was a little disappointing. Any other comments on the track? I will of course still buy the CD since I love her live arrangements and performances so much. I am just happy that she was included on the CD and hope to see more songs like that. I had heard that a radio station (107.5 THE END in Salt Lake City) was going to pop the in studio performance of COWBOYS on their END ZONE 2 CD. (A friend got me a copy of the first one...had some really good acoustic performances by Lisa Loeb, Del Amitri, Moonpools and Caterpillars, and some other artists). I know they recorded three of Paula's songs live. In other news, Sarah McLachlan has a newer bootleg out called "Unplugged and More." If you are a fan of her stuff, it is the best recorded bootleg I have seen of her stuff. Great selection of tracks (16). Lastly, I heard IDWTW on Finnish radio yesterday!!! Finally! What a hoot! I am so, so sorry that some in the audience were so terrible. That would really steam me up too. Shame on Paula for not telling the crowd to cool it. She is no wilting violet when it comes to asserting herself (as I saw her do in San Juan Capistrano when the sound board engineer was asleep at the wheel), and I share her irateness, puzzlement, disbelief, and ire at the insensitivity and just plain stupidity of those in the audience who couldn't grasp that their behavior was offensive to others. That is also my # 1 concern and pet peeve when I go to concerts. It is why each event is such an adventure and so unpredictable. I have seen Jewel berate the crowd at Lilith for being too noisy, with little actual effect; I have seen Tori stop in mid-chord, and shout up to someone in the 3rd balcony, "I'll wait until you're through talking before I continue!", and then after silence was restored, pick up without missing a note. But the world still is imperfect, and some fans are beyond the pale. Any thoughts from others on the list? Where does non-violent personal responsibility begin without overshadowing the rights of others to enjoy the same concert experience? well belle and sebastian's if youre feeling sinister was up for inspection and i must say, i was very impressed... its sorta in the housemartins/ beautiful south genre, and its got to be the most beautifully rendered record i heard this year.. not lavishly overproduced, just voice and the backing instruments in wonderful clarity.... buy this cd!!!! buy this cd!!!! i guess i can hold on to my top 10 until december at least :) spanish - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger Digest, further unsub and problems FAQ at: http://www.netaxs.com/~jgreshes/lists/harbinger.html For This Fire kinda-lyrics write Riphug@aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Nov 1997 20:07:59 -0500 From: "Jessica K. It was a wonderful, if cold journey. There were many highlights: 1. Of course Paula, her performances were as always amazing.... 2. Getting to talk to her again and having her advise jen that "girlfriend it is cold you need some socks." 3. Having Paula thank us in Milwaukee during the show for following her around (I could not stop smiling after that) 4. Getting to Chicago to find the show sold out, but then having paula stop to make sure we had tickets and when finding out we did not putting us on the guest list, for what I thought was the best show yet, 5. Meeting Daniel, a huge fan who had saved $5,000 quit his job and followed Paula 6. Running into ex's from hell in Myrtle Beach and surprising them. All in all it was great fun, got to meet some fellow listers and experience some great music. Cannot wait for classes to end so we can head out again. amy - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger Digest, further unsub and problems FAQ at: http://www.netaxs.com/~jgreshes/lists/harbinger.html For This Fire kinda-lyrics write Riphug@aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 24 Nov 1997 20:47:01 -0500 (EST) From: Scoobedu@aol.com Subject: Re: (harbinger) Taja Sevelle Love Taja Sevelle, and I am glad to find someone else who does.....I really liked her first album also (had to buy it twice after it was destroyed in a tragic tape deck mishap:) amy - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger Digest, further unsub and problems FAQ at: http://www.netaxs.com/~jgreshes/lists/harbinger.html For This Fire kinda-lyrics write Riphug@aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 25 Nov 1997 01:55:44 -0500 (EST) From: "Jill K.
