Last night, though, I got home and popped it in for a play. Here's the track listing: 1. Friend Of The Devil - Jerry Garcia / David Grisman 2. Strong Enough - Sheryl Crow 3. Sweet Jane - Lou Reed 4. Too Much - Dave Matthews Band 5. Think - Aretha Franklin 6. I Don't Want To Wait - Paula Cole 7. God Give Me Strength - Elvis Costello / Burt Bacharach 8. Funny How Time Slips Away - Al Green / Lyle Lovett 9. Have I Told You Lately That I Love You - Van Morrison / Sinead O'Connor / The Chieftains 10. You Were Meant For Me - Jewel / Flea 11. Reason To Believe - Rod Stewart 12. Crush With Eyeliner - R.E.M. 13. Are You Gonna Go My Way - Lenny Kravitz 14. Who Do You Love - Patti Smith My advice is this: If you are like me and you like to have any given artist's complete discography, then you will probably want to buy this CD for Paula's contribution. However, if you're looking for a stellar live performance from Paula, you might want to save your money and wait for her to release her own live CD. This live version of "IDWTW" from Letterman just isn't terribly good. The sound is rather muffled and, as you might recall if you saw the performance on Letterman, Paula just didn't have a lot of energy that night. You can hear it in her voice. The hopefulness that is usually so evident in her voice when she sings "IDWTW" isn't there this time. She and the guys had been touring pretty heavily for quite a while (as they have continued to do) and her voice was just not up to what we all know it can be. Naturally, that's not a negative reflection on Paula. It's entirely understandable that "the hardest working woman in show business" can get worn out from trying to keep all of us fans happy. As for the rest of the CD, I haven't listened to most of it yet. I heard the contributions from Sheryl Crow (which was quite good), Dave Matthews Band (pretty good, too) and Lenny Kravitz (ya gotta love Lenny on this song). Once I've given it a better listen, I'll let you know if the CD is worth buying for the rest of the music. Still entirely thrilled with "Autumn Leaves" - especially the awesome little part at the end when Paula does a little scat (a la Ella)...... Peace.
