Why does she refrain from shaving? I'm assuming there's some political motive behind that, but I'm not sure what. Is it a protest against sex roles? Doug dbailey@ro.com Hello everybody, I'm a new fan of Paula COLE and I I'm a new subscriber. I'm french and my english is very bad, but I'll try to understand what = your are talking here. I hope having some news of Paula COLE that I discovered in "Secret World = Live" of Peter GABRIEL.=20 I was charming by her voice. And she's so gorgeous! Of course I have = bought "This Fire". See you soon. = Julien Collin First off, I believe this is only like my third post, although I have been on this list for quite sometime now...Anyway, I heard about Paula coming to Pgh. the other day on the radio. The dj was mentioning people coming in concert, said her name, I screamed and scared my roommates. So, the following day, I called the radio station and talked to the dj, who gave me the details. Then, I called ticketmaster to order tickets, and they had no idea what I was talking about. Then I went to my nearby record store and got my ticket, so it all worked out, but I don't understand how the ticketmaster operator would have no idea what I was talking about, and the concert hasn't really been announced yet, although tickets have been on sale for a couple of days now. Anyway, I just felt like venting... :) Kathi (2 weeks away from seeing Sarah at the Palumbo Center....) ***************************************************************************** "I have an insect up my fanny."-Paula Cole "Maybe I should pose nude on the cover of my next cd..."-Kathie Lee Gifford ******************************************************************************* Hi Kris, I'm new to the list but a great fan of Paula Cole. I saw her last week in Portland Oregon and she played everything from This Fire, and from Harbinger she played: Watch the Woman's Hands, Ordinary, Happy Home, Hitler's Brothers... and I think that may be it. She opened with a song I've never heard before where she plays the clarinet... I'm not sure if this is a new song or a cover. She also covered Dolly Parton's "Jolene" (awesome!) and a French song that I don't know the name of. She did a nice long set.... I think it was about an hour and 45 minutes, including the two encores. As for which songs were done really well.... I'd say ALL of them! Some of the songs she did more improvisational work than others... but they were all wonderful. This is the second time I've seen Paula live and I have to say she just seems to get better and better! Have fun at the concert! Holly did someone say they was a heather nova mailing list? i just finally got her album yesterday after planning to for like two years....so far "island" is my favorite song. jewel was on vh1 the other nite yodelling with her dad and singing "rudolph the rednosed reindeer" with her mom. i hate to say it cuz it was cheezy but it was actually kinda sweet. says zoe, "so like where were her parents when she was living in a van and starving and stuf??" ~Jenna My boyfriend and I are going to see Paula at the beacon in NYC. We only live 2 hours away, but we thought we'd just stay in the city. Any suggestions on a good (safe) place to stay that isn't too expensive? Thanks. Jessica thanks so much for the lyrics... i have loved this song forever...une de mon favorite chantuese, grace jones, sang this in the early 80's and it is fab to know paula, mon absolutement favorite chantuese is singing it now !!! magnifique! merci. > > Just sitting here listening to a old tape of Joni Mitchell and James > Taylor in concert, together no less, getting psyched for the Paula show > Tuesday, reading the newspaper, and lo and behold in the "Critic's > Choice" section of one of our local papers: > > Popular Music > > It's little wonder that Paula Cole is headlining the Paramount Theatre > arfer stealing the show from other performers as an opening act. Howdy folks, I just needed to share my excitement for Paula's upcomming show today. Denver Colorado. Are there any listees attending? This is gonna be great! Steven, I bought 'IDWTW' and the 'B-side is 'Hitler's Brothers'. I am wondering if a new video has been filmed also... I thought that one was going to be filmed after the European tour but I may be wrong. At least I think I read they were gonna shoot a new one after they got back or sometime in October. Hoping to make the Dallas show....if moving goes as planned MiChelle Yippee is right, great news for us fans in the Northeast corner! I saw Paula about 2 years ago in the Brown University area...Eastside, and have been a fan since. I'm not able to travel to see her shows due to family and business... so this is a great treat. Lupo's is about 1 mile from my home... Haven't been there in twenty years... Mostly for the young crowd, but I will ask my 18 yr old son if he wants to take his old mom to a night out. This should be interesting. Thanks for the info. Ruby in Rhode Island Be well all.....
