I was trying to copy and send this and I think I send the whole "#¤ digest. Forgive me. Anyway, my friend in the bay area saw Paula last night. She isn't on this list, but here is her quick review... "Hello, Paula Cole was OUTSTANDING. I wll have to go buy her CD's since you have the tape you made for me. Iloved it so much I bought one of those itsy bitsy teenie weenie tank tops with the horse on the front. Went all by myself. Lovely walking around the Tenderloin dist (baaadddd part of downtown) with no male to protect me. The concert was at the Warfield. Its a great 20's auditorium and was perfect!!! Lots of great decor and architecture, as well as history. All kinds of bands have played there. Some real music history in that building. $19 bucks and I had a great seat!! A group called the Devlins opened for her. They were pretty good. Sarah McLachlan's producer just finished working with the Devlins on their new album. -Lena" Glad she enjoyed the show. I'm sad that Paula came to Sweden and not Finland. Just wondering how that show went and if there are any Finns or Swedes on this list? I just didn't know why Linds (Oblivious 1) was chastising you for clearing your cyber-throat and trying to get Spanish's attention. Don't sweat it, T. We're with you. :^) Peace. I didn't want to assume that Linds is a newbie, but after her last post, it seems apparent that if she had been on the list for any time at all, she would undoubtedly know that Tina's reference to "Spanish" refers specifically to our much-adored fellow list member, Spanish. That's his first name, Linds. Tina's reference wasn't any kind of a racial slur. She was just using my buddy's given (albeit unusual) first name. Long story short... you're championing the cause of anti-racism (which is commendable), but you've simply chosen the wrong time and place for your rally. You're among potential friends here, Linds. Trust me, the slinging of racial slurs is not a common pastime on Harbinger. In fact, we're rather United-Colors-Of-Benettonish around here. ;^) *This* is what I was talking about when I mentioned recently that it is in the best of interest of new subscribers to hang around for a while before posting to the list. Feeling out the mood of the list and (as we can now see) getting accustomed to different list members' names are important if one is to post informedly and intelligently. Otherwise, one will very likely end up with egg on one's face. Not a pretty sight (even if it is mildly amusing). I simply cannot wait for Spanish to read this thread!! It was definitely your turn, man!! First, there was the flamefest that erupted because people were debating on my good looks. Now, they've turned on one another over your very cool name, Spanish! At last....we're even! :^) Peace.
