The site is www.mix985.com. Golden CIrcle tickets are $50 but all the proceeds go to charity. I have not called to see if they sold out or not. Tickets are only available this way.... (the internet has all the details) Call 1-800-MIXFEST. Leave a message with the number of tickets, your name, phone, address, and day you want (obviously Sunday) because who wants to spend $50 to see the Monkees? Oh yeah and a fax machine number. Then they fax you a slip that you must sign and then you need to fax it back ASAP. Sorry to all this doesn't concern!!!! I don't see any need for Paula to add a backup singer to her band. Sure, her backup dubs sound great on the studio cuts, but if you've seen her perform live, you didn't even miss the backing vocals, right? . It's incredible how full her sound is, even when she was touring with Jay as the only band member! No bass. No guitar ('cept when Phil jumped in for 'Cowboys). Just a piano, drums, and one incredibly powerful voice! I don't think anybody else could pull that off. Having spent many years as a inmate (er, resident) of South Florida, I can attest to the utter lack of culture of the place. A simple one night visit by Paula could have raised the taste level of the place by many %'s. Christ, I remember when schoolmates were overjoyed about RATT playing at Sunrise Musical Center. Thanks Bob! I stayed up the other night to tape it, but she wasn't on. I got it tonight! What a great interview. It's about fucking time someone sat down and talked to Paula. I have to say that her words about being shy and finding solace in music meant so much to me. I found myself really moved by this portion and almost cried. I dunno - something just struck me. I was the shy girl in school and some of Paula's songs - Bethlehem, Nietzsche's Eyes, and Tiger - - all stand out to me thematically. Sometimes I just want to hug her and cry with her and tell her "man, I was sooo there with you..." Ok, I'm done gushing now. No, I'm not. I find Paula's viewpoints completely refreshing. Charlie Rose seemed to badger her a bit, but it was cool anyway. It was interesting that Charlie focused on Paula's contribution to music as a *woman* more than just a human, but I guess the media are shocked that women can actually play instruments as well as men. :P And as always, Paula looked incredible. :) Just some thoughts.
