Seeing her and feeling that she (and the other musicians) enjoyed performing soo much, was very nice, too. The things she can do with her voice are really unbelievable... She also did the Edith Piaf song - I didn't really expect it. - It took places in the E-Werk in Cologne (http://194.121.235.55:80/e-werk/) which is a nice small venue (about 300 people would fit in, but it wasn't sold out - as R=FCdiger mentioned before, Paula isn't very popular here in Germany). Th= e audience seemed to know most of her songs, alltough Paula said something lik= e "The next song is for those few of you who know my first records" before she played "I'm so ordinary". Unfortunately, the management of the E-Werk always starts with their Disco a= t 10 pm, so the concert hat to be over by then and the hall had to be cleaned before. Too bad, but 90 Minutes of Paula are still great to enjoy. At 4:53 +0200 13.09.1997, DECLAN - IMPAKT MULTIMEDIA wrote: > Holly Palmer (support) was brilliant in her own right. If I remeber correctly, his name was Kevin Barry (or something like this). Can it be possible that he toured with John Cale last winter in Europe? According to the recent issue of People, she is currently dating Seyi Sonuga. Pg. 128 - "Cole's wish list for the future includes "having babies" with her boyfriend, New York City musician and aspiring filmmaker Seyi Sonuga, 30ish, a Nigerian who grew up in England and studied at Berklee, where the two met in 1990." Seems to me that Seyi is the inspiration for "Chiaroscuro". :) - -Karen *---- karenjw@one.net ------------------* * what is an angel but a ghost in drag? * * - tori amos * *---------------------------------------* - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger Digest, further unsub and problems FAQ at: http://www.netaxs.com/~jgreshes/lists/harbinger.html For This Fire kinda-lyrics write Riphug@aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Sep 1997 13:15:28 -0600 From: MiChelle Smith Subject: (harbinger) My Sig File >Great .sig from a great song. I did manage to find Kami's album at Tower Records in Los Angeles. I still haven't gotten Kim Fox's album, but I'm not sure if it's been released yet or not. I haven't found Holly's album yet. BTW, for the person who said you have to get Holly's SOUR PIE for Elmo...Elmo's not on that album. I have it, thinking that was the right one, and it's not. So... There are only a few artists on that Lilith tape that I don't have. I wasn't crazy about K's Choice album (altho' I love the song on the tape) and altho' I love Cinnamon's song on the tape, I can't handle her voice for an entire album. Other than those and Kim Fox, I think I've got all the CDs of the artists on that tape. It's rare that I'm this obsessive... :-) Irene...who has already purchased tix for Paula and can't WAIT for October to happen! - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger Digest, further unsub and problems FAQ at: http://www.netaxs.com/~jgreshes/lists/harbinger.html For This Fire kinda-lyrics write Riphug@aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Sep 1997 19:30:42 -0500 From: "Jessica K. I'd have to say that Polka Dots is the strongest song on it, the other stuff is very good but nothing really blew me away. That being said, I think the album was still well worth the money. The best places I know of to find new artists' albums are Best Buy and Circuit City. I picked up Fiona Apple's album at Circuit city about this time last year for $6.98 on CD. This is the best part about liking emerging artists; I gan get my CD's really cheap. =) Seriously, Circuit City and Best Buy's music departments seem to work toward the niche market of people who like new artists (in other words, people like us) -- They usually have new stuff available to sample (REAL new stuff, not "new" like what the Wall will call new where they called This File and Tidal "new" in February when they had been out since September or October), and their new music prices are unbeatable. -Terry - --------------29A8FD642AD8160F48DCC8DA Content-Type: text/x-vcard; charset=us-ascii; name="vcard.vcf" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Description: Card for Terry Auspitz Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="vcard.vcf" begin: vcard fn: Terry Auspitz n: Auspitz;Terry email;internet: tma2@erols.com tel;home: (215) 328-9986 x-mozilla-cpt: ;0 x-mozilla-html: TRUE end: vcard - --------------29A8FD642AD8160F48DCC8DA-- - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger Digest, further unsub and problems FAQ at: http://www.netaxs.com/~jgreshes/lists/harbinger.html For This Fire kinda-lyrics write Riphug@aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 15 Sep 1997 02:38:13 -0400 (EDT) From: Chris Povie Subject: Re: (harbinger) Cologne Gig (re: Manchester and London) In regard to the recent "is the guitar player her husband?" query: Wasn't that about Holly Palmer and *her* guitarist -- Robin Something-or-Other - not Paula and Kevin?
