Is "IDWTW" going to be released as a CD single in the States or EU? If so, do you know if there will be any extra tracks on it? (I am still dying to hear the alt versions of THIS FIRE that Paula said she recorded and scrapped.) I love the demo versions found on the Imago Road Sampler and the live acoustic guitar versions of "Ordinary" "Happy Home" and "Jolene" that are found elsewhere as well as the fantastic piano/vocal/drum stuff that's been broadcast on American radio. Again, if anyone has any info about the scrapped THIS FIRE sessions, I'd love to hear it. Sorry if the answers to these questions have already been posted, but I can't find any new information on the WB or Titus PCole pages. The first one is about the new IDWTW video. Has anyone noticed that it's a new edit of the video that they're playing? It doesn't have all the same scenes as the original did. It's actually more of a story now rather than various scenes of different periods. Does anyone know why they did that? I personally don't like the new version as much (although I do like it) as the original. The second thing is that Paula is nominated for Best Female video for Cowboys at the MTV Awards in Sept. I'm pretty excited for her, but I don't understand why it was nominated. The video didn't do well at all on MTV. They played it for about 2 weeks and then it fell off their playlist. Hmmm...well...I don't know if she'll win, but we all have to vote for her. That's it for now. - -Bri - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger Digest, further unsub and problems FAQ at: http://www.netaxs.com/~jgreshes/lists/harbinger.html For This Fire kinda-lyrics write Riphug@aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 14 Aug 1997 19:43:18 -0500 (CDT) From: cjd3005@UTARLG.UTA.EDU Subject: Re: (harbinger) "I Don't Want To Wait" on Friday Night Jukebox On Thu, 14 Aug 1997, Kenn Carpenter wrote: > I just checked out the Friday Night website..... > > Paula has 11% of the vote. Almost certainly it has been discussed before, so I apologize for the retake. The lyrics to Mississippi have me somewhat confused. Who, if anybody, killed the author? Is it real or imagined? I heard that song and just had to buy the cd. I couldn't really understand all of the lyrics. With the help of Riphug that is settled. It is such a wistful piece. Try www.ticketpro.com they have a # you can call to see if you can purchase tickets for the show and if they can get you the ticket. They also have a form you can fill out but being that the date for the show is not too far away I would say that your best bet is to pay the money and give them a call. If you fill out the small form on the bottom of the page it says they will call you but you need two phone lines to do it and according to the web site it is a toll-free call. Good Luck and best wishes on seeing Paula in London!!! I'm just sitting here listening to Katell Keineg's album 'Jet' and I gotta say ... wow!! People, this is a *damn* good CD. Now I have to admit that I bought it a few months ago after reading about her on the Lilith website and after one listen put it aside. I can't explain why, I just didn't like it then. Well, I had the pleasure of sitting next to Cathy B. and Lois in the front row and watching Katell perform on the second stage at the Houston, TX Lilith Fair. And through the whole thing, I was thinking "what the hell is wrong with you Casey?!?!?! She is too cool." So, after seeing her that day I came home and listen to the CD again and was just riveted. I don't know what type of mood I was in that first time I listen to it, but jeez ... something sure was wrong. But then, I've done this twice before. Once with Tara MacLean's 'Silence' and with Fiona Apple's 'Tidal'. I didn't like either the first time I listened and so put them away for a long time, then for one reason or another took them back out at a later date. Now, I cherish both those CD's, and with 'Jet's funky, cooky little nature growing on me all the time, I have no doubt it will become one of my faves in the not too distant future. By any means, this CD now comes highly suggested from me and if you ever get a chance to see Katell live -- do it!! The power of her voice is amazing. - -Casey =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= / "If I shed a tear, I won't cage it ... if I feel a rage I won't / \ deny it ...
