She must be doing well for geek snipes to be after her. On another note, USA today's life section had a large Paula spread (notice, not large acticle--it was mostly two very large photographs). One interesting thing in their is that although her sales are doing well, she isn't seeing any of the money. Are there any live CDs available with Paula (other than the Peter Gabriel thing). She seems that she might be popular enough to be bootlegged so I'm curious. I LOVE the way Paula sings live and would really love to get a copy of her singing "Jolene". If there aren't any, are there any taped live shows? Does Paula oppose her shows being taped if it's non-profit? Thanks a TON! BTW, I saw Paula on Saturday, July 19th at Pine Knob in Michigan for Lilith Fair. She was *amazing* The songs she sang were (not in order): Throwing Stones Where Have All The Cowboys Gone Tiger Mississippi I Don't Want To Wait Jolene Me Hitler's Brothers As I mentioned before, "Jolene" was simply fantastic. I have heard Natalie Merchant cover the song and it was great, but nothing compared to Paula. The cat-scratch thing Paula does during the song rocks! I think it would have been cool to see Paula and Sarah sing a duet, maybe that could happen later in the tour. Amazing amazing amazing! :) - -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Dean - ---- "Summer fields grew high with foxglove stalks and ivy" -NM - -- "When the sun had turned its back on us, in the dark our love kept track of us; love among the ruins" - MR - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger Digest, further unsub and problems FAQ at: http://www.netaxs.com/~jgreshes/lists/harbinger.html For This Fire kinda-lyrics write Riphug@aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Jul 1997 02:18:56 -0400 (EDT) From: Karen Whyte Subject: Re: (harbinger) show me the $ On Mon, 21 Jul 1997, m borchers wrote: > ok, where do you suppose her money is going? > charity? promoters? debt? > > >One interesting thing in their is that although her sales are doing well, > >she isn't seeing any of the money. > >Jason Perhaps touring expenses and debt. That's rather sad that she's not seeing any of the money. I guess we're sort of lulled into this idea that once an artist "hits it big" they're rich... - -Karen - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger Digest, further unsub and problems FAQ at: http://www.netaxs.com/~jgreshes/lists/harbinger.html For This Fire kinda-lyrics write Riphug@aol.com ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 22 Jul 1997 02:20:47 -0400 (EDT) From: Karen Whyte Subject: Re: (harbinger) Paula Live CDs? I haven't listned to all of it yet, 'cause the quality sort of sucks. But I do have Jolene. I'll listen to the rest of it tomorrow and let you know. Maybe we can work something out. :) - -Karen - ------------------------------ To unsubscribe, mail majordomo@smoe.org with: unsubscribe harbinger Digest, further unsub and problems FAQ at: http://www.netaxs.com/~jgreshes/lists/harbinger.html For This Fire kinda-lyrics write Riphug@aol.com ------------------------------ End of harbinger-digest V2 #15 ******************************
