We had such a good time opening for you here--thanks again for having us! Hope you had much success on your European tour and that things are rosy all around. Send us a message sometime at our web site (it's somewhere in sony.com, I believe) if you're so inclined. All the best, Julia, et al. julia - ---end--- i also remember when some of the cranes' (touring members?) signed the raspy guestbook from the tfte website. it went something along the lines of "beautiful girls" and "we're all in love with you", etc. etc. CUTE!!! ^_^ (boy, don't i sound crazy, remembering all these minor details? i'm afraid for myself.) as for the cranes' new album, it was actually due back in, oh, spring of '99!!! being almost spring of 2001, i'm not trusting anymore reports of it being ready til i actually see it in stores. they have really bad public relations now, as bad or even worse than rasputina's (besides alison's newsletters and paul's direct responses to the fan questions, and sebora's occasional touring updates) . . . another trait the bands have in common. i'm guessing that it has something to do with not being on a label. ;) anyway, there is a demo posted up on www.cranes-fan.com of one of their new songs "future song". it seems plain but i guess that's why it's just a demo. what a nice chunky e-mail! the fine result of chronic procrastination. has anybody read marguerite duras' "l'amant"? >From: KrodKnid@aol.com >To: goths@smoe.org >Subject: Cranes/Rasputina >Date: Sat, 20 Jan 2001 00:20:16 EST > > Los Angeles, CA >April 8th >http://www.cranes-fan.com/tour/la-roxy.html > >That link leads to a page from the tour diary of Alison Shaw of Cranes. (which is actually very old). i'm not sure what year it was put out but it's before the "wings of joy" era, when they were darker and more, err, "gothier", for lack of a better word. they got progressively, err, "brighter" and brighter as the years progressed. . . for lack of a better word. it is also featured on the cranes' e.p. collection. ;) actually, they have a song called "i hope" off the "espero" e.p. that kinda reminds me of music from a porn soundtrack (the beat is sexy, the guitars moan, and alison really wails). ^_^ > > >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> > > What album is Cranes "Dada" from...is it one of the new ones?
