Well, I am the one who infected Napster with that track, "Winter Song" by UltraVividScene, featuring an early incarnation of the Ladies playing backup. I have just made MP3s of two other tracks from the main CD, "Rev", by UltraVividScene ("Winter Song" was on a 4 track bonus cd that came with "Rev"). The two new MP3s are "Medicating Angels" and "This Is The Way". I don't think they are as Raspylike as "Winter Song", which sounds like something off TFTE only with a guy singer... although "Medicating Angels" has some very "Trenchmouth"-like distorted cello mixed with shredding guitar licks...and it ends in a more cello-ish coda section. "This Is The Way" has a mostly very conventional sounding cello arrangement. At any rate, look for these tracks on Napster, as I am on there quite a bit...or, if your e-mail server allows for large files as e-mail attachments, I will gladly send them to you that way. AOL, for example, allows up to 16 megabytes for attachments...while Yahoo and HotMail and a number of others only offer from 1 to 3, or even less in some cases...not enough for very long MP3s anyway. Many university LANs allow large files too. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 27 Dec 2000 23:02:40 EST From: KrodKnid@aol.com Subject: Melora Mather? Hahahaha...do a search of the web for Melora Mather some time. That was Melora's name (I presume before she got married) when she first was forming Rasputina and also when she toured Europe as cellist with Nirvana before that...anybody has a bootleg off that tour, I want it!! She also did backup for the Ropers on a song called "You Have A Light", which I just downloaded from Napster. She played on a Babe The Blue Ox album called "People" too, but I have yet to find that one. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 28 Dec 2000 00:54:51 EST From: KrodKnid@aol.com Subject: more Rasputina trivia In addition to the Melora Mather rarities, Julia has a cello instrumental out there from some compilation called "A Winter's Song" (not the same as that UltraVividScene track). Try a Napster search for "Julia Kent - What Child IS This". She is an excellent cellist, I must say. ------------------------------ End of goths-digest V4 #67 **************************
