(just playing a bit of > devil's advocate, dont mind me.) =) Fuck the media. They got an easy ride as it is, and for them to make up a bullshit story so they can bash on an artist they don't like is unforgiveable. Secondly I have eight Manson CD's and no where does he sing about setting off bombs. Get your information straight. Thirdly nobody has any right to pursue Manson over this, what he says doesn't dictate your behavior. Each of us is our own free mind willing us to do as we please and if you kill people thats on you not anybody else. Finally EVERY Manson CD I own has very clearly stamped on it Parental Advisory, so if kids can be easily manipulated as some would put it then their fucking parents should pay attention to what they are buying. On a related side note here is some info. "Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, said she is joining with Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan, to send a letter to Seagram's, asking the firm to push a subsidiary to withdraw compact discs and tapes featuring shock rocker Marilyn Manson. Collins said Manson's music had been "implicated" in three of the school violence incidents." This is fucked up. Come on people lets not stand for the government deciding what is right for us and what is not. It is time to move against this facism. Sorry about my attitude throughout this post but I am sick of the media pointing fingers at the entertainment industry. - -- Tenchi tenchi@gatecom.com http://www.gatecom.com/~tenchi ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Apr 1999 16:59:50 -0700 From: Thomas Victor Subject: Re: goth or not?(nothing to do with rasputina) > May I just say, once again sorry for the late reply...but then what does > make one a goth? You are what you envision yourself as being. Goth is just a pigeonhole term used to fit one's self in with others who may share a few of the same interests. Goth as we use it is really just a word derived from Gothic. Goth really means the Germans that invaded the roman empire from the third to fifth century (Don't think any of us here qualify). Gothic is a style of medieval arcitecture and literature, typically dark and broading, but sometimes bright and beautiful. People who are opposed to the goth culture of today is going to see anybody who even slightly resembles that image as being goth. While your total hardcore freaks(used in positive manner, not meant to offend anybody) are going to see somebody who is just a little into it as ungoth. The above are just my opinions, they have no affect on you, and probably didn't even answer you're question. - -- Tenchi tenchi@gatecom.com http://www.gatecom.com/~tenchi ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Apr 1999 17:12:28 EDT From: KrodKnid@aol.com Subject: Re: goth or not?(nothing to do with rasputina) In a message dated 4/26/99 5:03:24 PM Eastern Daylight Time, tenchi@gatecom.com writes: << Goth really means the Germans that invaded the roman empire from the third to fifth century (Don't think any of us here qualify). This is why we have movie ratings and advisory stickers, because children and teens of ignorant parents shouldn't be watching and listening to this stuff. I agree. But you know what? I was tought that it is wrong to kill a person, and I know that. And no amount of violent games, music, movies or books is going to change that in me. If you start killing people there is something seriously wrong with you, and it wasn't put there by entertainment. - -- Tenchi tenchi@gatecom.com http://www.gatecom.com/~tenchi ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Apr 1999 22:42:06 EDT From: Milkdudd21@aol.com Subject: seymore THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE!!!!! i lovethe simpsons...............and of course RASPUTINA ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Apr 1999 23:23:08 EDT From: ImAZeroSP@aol.com Subject: lalalalala... rasputina? who are they again....? have you ever seen a goth grrl mowing her lawn and typing with biore pore perfect strips on her nose and chin? and sleeping in green flannel pajamas??? uh oh... i guess im no goth! im a mix of a teenage boy/trendie girl/and 39 year old mom! heehee... j/k... i happen to love my biore strips... and my pajamas...
