Me? I've been a "non-conformist" freak for most of my life except a 4 year stint in the navy, life is good that way, and its not somthing I try to do, or strive for, its just good to be different, so I am. I still have hair to my butt, I still love to wear black almost daily, including my much tatterd leather coat. It's been almost 25 years since I finished high school, when we called them jocks, and they called us thugs, or stoners, apparently thats about all thats the same between now and then. Like many of the Denver parents, I fled to the burbs to escape the violence of the city schools, that includes the occasional murder. I could certainly envision the scene that was being played out in Denver, my daughters school being about 2,000 people as was my own high school. There was also the incident this year where "vandals" destroyed the vehicles of "jocks", and took out the windows of there homes, while they were away at the state football finals. This to say that apparently the level of anomosity between these two historicaly opposed groups seems to have peaked. Ya know why adults are so quick to point the finger of blame as to the "why" this happend? Well think about it, what were those kids really doing? Weren't they settling there affairs like adults do? They seem to have identified themselves as an oppressed group, and went to WAR with the world. Thats the thing that hit me, there acting like adults do. I'm sure many of you will argue, no thats not how adults settle problems, and don't get me wrong, I'm not saying thats how problems should be solved, but we still live in an age where if we can't settle our differences, we kill each other until one side gives up. yeah, war, thats the thing adults do, well in this case more like terrorisim, but a very "adult" thing. So, of all the reasons I've heard for all the killing thats been going on lately I haven't heard anybody suggest that its just kids imatating adults, but really, thats all it is. sp00k ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Apr 1999 12:54:15 PDT From: "Grandville Gerard" Subject: re: RE: raspy sorta >Date: Sun, 25 Apr 1999 02:34:07 -0400 >From: MICAH WESTFALL >Subject: RE: raspy-sorta > > > >urban legend, right...
