I know many of you may be on that list, but this is about what happened in colorado a couple days ago. If you'd like, you can tell people you know about it etc. I just thought it was a good idea. - ------------------------------------------------------ I am proposing that we, "the goths" (or the so-called people who are involved with stuff like this) show that not all people who wear black or listen to heavy music are suffering from the same moral degradation as the two boys today. For the next week, I propose that we (any one who agrees with me) wear a white ribbon (think AIDS awareness ribbons) to show our support in stopping the sensless violence that is plaguing us. I had the same problems all through school that many of you on this list have expressed, and I am fed up with the disposition that all Goth people are morally inept. The problem with those boys was that they showed no personal restraint. Yes, I have wanted to kill people in the past and will in the future, as have many others, but that is sinking to the level of the stupid people and that is something that I understand. For the most part kids in high school are cruel, heartless, petty and cliquey. But they'll grow up, be adults and die, too. There aren't a whole lot of people with happy memories of high school. For most, it is some kind of Purgatory. I think that the outcasts of our society are losing sight of the fact that they are better than everyone else. As long as we keep that in mind, none of them have to die. They can just wallow in the misery that they create for themselves. True, we aren't all homocidal, but how clear is the line? Also interesting, the Michigan legislature has put off its debate on loosening the requirements for a concealed weapons permit until next week in response to the shooting. Senator David Jaye was quoted as saying, "it's too bad these two terrorist killed themselves because they'd be excellent cantidates for the death penalty."
