Well, the rumor is that Rasputina will be playing Convergance next year, if it's voted to be held in New york. I dunno if this is official, or someone just blowing smoke, but they couldn't very well play next year if they were broken up. ;) ____ - -FifthDream ...all around me darkness gathers, fading is the sun that shone; we must speak of other matters: you can be me when i'm gone..... http://pages.prodigy.com/FifthDream/ featuring Switchblade Symphony, the Cure, NIN, Prick, Poppy Z. Yeah, and I'd say we have about a 99.9% of hearing from them in the future (meaning, they're still a band). ~lithia ^@^^@^^@^^@^^@^^@^^@^^@^^@^^@^^@^^@^^@^ "Don't drink the lithia water," -Moonit http://www.angelfire.com/ca2/XOXOJANE A Rasputina fansite. They do not exist for the sole purpose of touring and giving us pleasure. They are autonomous individuals with lives before, after, and outside of rasputina. So they never tour again. They never create another album. Good for them. They'll be with their children. Doing the things they do when they're not on stage for an hour or in the studio for a few days. Making coffee. Doing the crossword puzzle. Pumping gas. Taking a shower. Hey, we have alot in common...... except for pumping gas. i digress. dig? alright then. m ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Apr 1999 19:12:51 -0700 From: Channy Subject: Rasputina cds..rarities, etc. Hello everyone! I need some help. I am doing this project for my graphic arts class at school, and we have to make a magazine. So, I picked Rasputina. I need someone to send me a complete list of their releases.. I mean, promo cds, etc. etc. (besides TFTE, HWQTF, TR, Headboarde single) Thanks alot!! Oh, and if you could include the release date (just the year) it would help! Thanks! According to the police in CO they're a huge national gang. I think it's such crap that they're blaming this on Marilyn Manson & his music. And goths! Gimme a break, if I wear black clothes and listen to MM does that mean I'm going to kill people? It's like when kids used to commit suicide 20 years ago and they blamed it on Ozzy and KISS. They're making it sound like people in the goth movement are part of some huge underground scary gang that wants to kill everyone. The police officer even said that unlike "normal" gangs, goths have no apparent target, that EVERYONE is their target. Since raspy are sort of a goth band, a lot of people are into goth, and our list is called the goths, I thought you might be interested in this. *HUGS* Lamia "I don't have to try in the least to shock people. I would almost think that the kids that did it must have been really picked on. I mean bad. See, I was the butt of that all throughout school. I got so sick of it. So, I had to graduate two years early just to exscape it all. But, through my experiences, I could almost see the people who did it's perspective (no I am not saying what they did was right, though). I think the popular kids are the meanest kids who ever lived. Also, I think this will continue to happen as long as persons in athletics are treated like gods. So, I had to graduate two years early just to exscape it all. almost everyone experiences things like this. and almost everyone seems to feel as if they were the only people in the history of the world to be treated as outcasts. we all feel isolated, we all feel different from everyone around us at one point or another. i have never heard anyone say that high school encompassed the best years of their lives. and i wouldn't believe them if they did. anyway. we get through it. we grow up and become better than the people who ostracized us. this was hardly a matter of teen angst. it was a matter of severely disturbed children who slipped through the cracks. > But, through my experiences, I could almost see the people who did it's > perspective (no I am not saying what they did was right, though). I think > the popular kids are the meanest kids who ever lived. Also, I think this no, isn't that hard to see their perspective. it's really too easy. which is *exactly* what makes it such a pitiful situation, their lives should not have turned out this way. their parents should have seen that their children had problems, and they should have been treated. should have, should have.. > will continue to happen as long as persons in athletics are treated like > gods. > the treatment of atheletes has nothing to do with it. it's an excuse. if such things do continue to happen, it will be because as the educational system treats its students like numbers, and is too happy to classify students rather than give them the attention they deserve. or because the schools are so overcrowded you can't help but be faceless. innate empathy should be a prerequisite for a teaching job. i wish they paid good teachers more. i wish students had more respect for their position. they get barely adequate pay and have the most difficult job. and now who'll want to do it? anyway. that's another matter, i guess. heart, jennifer http://members.aol.com/nahaliel/ "Time provides the rope, but love will tie the slipknot and I will be the chair you kick away." -The Magnetic Fields ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 21 Apr 1999 23:20:22 EDT From: TheitGrl@aol.com Subject: Re: 10 things i hate about you I completely love "Ten Things I Hate About You." I thought it was so cute and funny. I actually saw it twice. I don't what everyone else's lives are like, but mine is so full of stress and distress that a movie like that is a nice break from reality. Also, I'm such a romantic at heart, so it was nice to see some sappiness. About Kat just conforming to another group. . . anyone can be a conformer under your defenition. Are you trying to be all individual and noncomformist also? Because, if so, you're failing because you're conforming to the "teen angst" mold. Also, the thing that makes Kat a nonconformer is that she's not being something just because she thinks that's cool. She's being who she is because that's what she believes in. Um...yeah.
