(it was a nice twist, since the movie is based on the Bard's "Taming of the Shrew") she really was awesome, she said she had a "thing" going with him. then this kid invited her to the prom by leaving her a note signed "William S" along with a dress that was beautiful...looks a lot like my senior prom dress (which was a nice blend of gothic and renaissance) anyway, if you get the student discount or the twilight reduced price, go check it out. otherwise, be sure to rent it. feedback? reviews of your own? lets hear them!!! ~~Lori ~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!!~!~!~!~!~! I saw "Never Been Kissed" it was cute, but basically the way it was in the previews. No big surprises, but still good. Molly Shannon totally rocked in her role! I saw her on Will & Grace the other night, and I was so afraid she was going to play her role in "kissed" the way she played her guest star spot on W&G: Like her SNL character mary catherine gallager. She really proved that she's an actress as well as a comedian. as for video, I just saw American History X, Edward Norton is an amazing actor and this movie is a must see! *hugs* Lamia "...'at least you had the angels with you', they said. Had some nice, witty moments (would have some great new quotes if I could only remember them...), but some of the humour was too...obvious, and like they were trying too hard, so it wasn't funny (for example, the student body- the cowboys, the white-rasta boys...). In general I thought it was pretty good. I loved the Dad. He really reminds me of my friend's dad. And I think the leading male role (Patrick was the name?) was pretty well chosen. He did a nice job. Would have done this more in depth, but right now all I can think is "sleeep..sleep...sleep...". katie - -- * ICQ#1791425 -- As featured by Papa Pan! * "There's nothing more exhilarating than pointing out the * shortcomings of others, is there?" * -Randal (Jeff Anderson), _Clerks_ ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 Apr 1999 18:31:39 EDT From: DaliAdore@aol.com Subject: movies i second the opinion on american history X.... that was one of the best movies i've seen in a long time... edward norton is absolutely superb.. haha.. makes me want to be a skinhead and i'm not even white! drew ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 Apr 1999 16:53:10 PDT From: "Rainbow Bright" Subject: Re: 10 things i hate about you yeah, i guess some of the humor was a little...forced, but it was still an interesting farce-thing on how high schools are soooo cliquey. i found the white rasta boys to be amusing. the teacher was cool, and Ms. Perky, the x rated guidance counselor, was just entertaining. one thing i had to criticize was there didnt seem to be enough extremes...the "bad" boy wasnt really all that horrible. and even though that was the point, that he was nice underneath, he still probably should have looked the part more, or else had more people like his mohawked friend around. same for the rebel girls...there werent really any. kat could definitely have been more extreme...as it was, she was just a normal looking girl who happened to be really unpleasant. and all of her obscure girl bands...well, they werent that obscure! she was just the stereotypical girl-rock, gwen stefani follower...which is not really making much of a statement, just conforming to another genre. other then all that, it was still a fun movie. ~~Lori ~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!~!!~!~!~!~!~!
