I believe that when the first person was criticizing the dancing; one was supposed to also understand that children in junior high would not understand. That age group of children are extemely obnoxious to the rest of world (even when they do not know it, which is most of the time). Oh well. I decided to refrain from any commentary until i was sure you weren't just being grouchy. you see, there must be respect for others when one decided to dance at a show - especially if one is the only one dancing in a given area. my general rule is, watch the band for a little while from a nice close space up front, if the music overwhelms me and begs me to do more than a little polite shimmying in my spot - I MOVE. i move way to the back in a corner or wherever there is enough space for me to move where i will not be in anyone's way or knock their drink over with a flailing limb (yes, i tend to be quite expressive...). > good grief. like i could think there's something wrong with dancing at > concerts. > i really think more people should dance at concerts, if room allows. I can't help but feel that in a small crowd, if you just stand there and watch all you are doing is soaking up the energy from the band and not giving anything back... though, not everyone dances naturally... I just wish that more people who felt like dancing at sparsely crowded shows _would_. there's an increadible energy that forms when this happens... being moved to dance as the musicians play. feeding on their energy, while at the same time giving back from yourself. nothing in the world can compare to dancing to a band you have never heard before and finding yourself so completely submerged in the music that you almost fall into a barrel of fire... - -Posbina (whose Grateful dead loving co-worker called her a "gothic hippy") "The colors bled into the fog and were sopped up as if by a horrible gauze which drank the blood of rainbows. I agree with all this of course. And I wish that more people would dance, everyone was just standing there with their arms crossed. But this girl was way out of line, she took up enough room for three people, and I actually got kicked on the hipbone, which is ridiculous. We all wear boots to protect our feet (besides that they look cool), but full body armor shouldn't be necessary. And the other girl is right too. I couldn't see much of anything unless I jumped up and down. Fortunatly my friend who's a proffessional photographer was there, and she fought her way to the front, so I'll be able to see what was really happening from those photos. I'll let you know how they come out. Oh, and once again, the t-shirt deal wasn't fair at all. They only had four of them, and I'm guessing that at least 15 people wanted them, which makes you feel really bad because you're fighting with all of these other people. I still want one though.
