I've been on this list for maybe a week now. I absolutely love Rasputina, I was hooked the first time I listened to Transylvanian Regurgitations. Other bands I like include Marilyn Manson, Smashing Pumpkins, NIN, Jack off Jill, and Fiona Apple. Other highly important stuff about me is that my name is Jessica, I'm 15 and I live in Pittsburgh. I'm a total computer nerd. There is no other way to put it. The only person I've met who is more into computers than me is this guy who looks exactly like me. We aren't related, but it's still pretty freaky, you have to agree... While I'm using my computer, I listen to music and watch TV. I know you all envy my highly exciting life. I also like to say I enjoy cheese, but really, I'm not too fond of it... I think this is all anyone really wants to know right now. Jessica BTW, does anyone on here have any Rasputina fonts? (I don't even know if there is such a thing) I do all the layout for my school newspaper, and I like to sneak in stuff like this. If you have any, let me know, and I can give you adress to send them to, since I can't get attachments here. ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. Hi all- Boy have I got some wonderful news for us all! About a month ago, I mailed Rasputina's manager a letter explaining the developments we have made as a mailing list and fan club over the past year or so. I also asked if we might have more interaction with the band; one of my suggestions was that we might compile a set of questions for the band, and they would answer them for us. It would be a sort of informal interview session for the fan club. Three days ago, the publicity manager for Rasputina contacted me after having reviewed my letter. She has talked with Melora, and the girls are enthusiastically willing to work with us! In other words, we are presented here with the possibility of strengthening the relationship between band and fan club. To start things off, I suggest that we send Melora a list of questions regarding the band, music, band members' backgrounds, lyrical interpretations....anything under the sun (within reason). Preferably stuff we haven't seen in interviews before. Therefore, what I recommend is that you all mail me questions you have for Melora or the band; I will then compress them into a set of about 25 questions. I can then e-mail them to the publicity manager who will give them to Melora, and soon we can expect a reply which I would post on the list and web site. This is only a start of the possibilities. As we forge a stronger relationship with the band, it is reasonable to expect greater interaction between us - anyone with any ideas for how the band can help us (or how we can help the band), please post it to the list and we can discuss it. >From what the publicity manager has told me, the band is really and truly excited to be working with us. This is a wonderful opportunity for us; the band has acknowledged us. We are "legitimate," so to speak. If anyone has any ideas to make use of this wonderful opportunity (besides our set of questions) , please let us hear them. I will accept questions until December 10th or so, and then I will compile a list of 25 questions and post them to the list so everyone can see what is being sent to Melora. And then we wait for the responses!!!! I am extremely excited by these developments, and I hope everyone else is as well!
