I attended the May 5th Utica, NY Manson concert also. I had heard about Rasputina before so i knew they were 3 celloists and I was very excited about seeing them. When they came out people clapped i think but no real reaction. I do remember My Little Shirtwaist Fire I think it was first. I was so ashamed of the audience! They threw stuff up at them the whole time and Melora was pretty much flinching half the time! I dont understand how anyone could do that! Then she said something like the 40 second songs on Ether about Have you ever wished for a cream cheese aenama ( I cant spell it ) and gotten your wildest dreams..something like that.. But I loved them when i heard them they were doing something I had wanted to hear musically for ages. I was obsessed with the fact celloists could do their own thing and hearing that touched a place I was craving for inside me. I also by the way recoommend The Dracula soundtrack for all of you! Its so beautiful for those of you who love violins and cellos..So thats about it. Im not surprised by the reaction of the " manson fans" but I cant wait to see them when theyre not being attacked! Kat > Okay I just remembered something else that happened, thanks to Kat. Melora said something and it ended with "What's another name for feces?" or something like that. There was no reaction so she yelled it again. Then part of the Audience responded with "shit". Also at the end of the set I remember her saying something like "get your salivary glands ready cause here comes Marilyn Manson". Something like that. Kat was much closer to the stage than I so I didn't notice the thrown objects. I think this show has been exhausted now. I hope they tour soon. My only rasputina experience was seeing them open for Cranes a long time ago... and we had recently moved to Portland and were unaware that the show was starting early. When they listed show time as 10pm, we thought that Rasputina was going on at 10pm. we were wrong. got there at around 9:15 and ended up catching probably 4 songs... Lots of upset people were fitering in as they left the stage... people who probably thought the same as we did... the audience response was great. i seem to remember a few (of the small crowd) dancing. those few minutes were breathtaking. had i known they were opening for Manson, i would have definately braved that crowd to see Rasputina. - -Posbina (who thinks if clubs are going to start things early, they should advertise the correct time.) * . . * *** . . ** * . .. * . ** ... . * * . * .
