It's very different than the first album, definately better driving music. I heard some manson influence, but not in a bad way. Watch TV reminds me of Man That You Fear a little...the crowd noises in a slow song at the end of the cd...My favorite tracks have to be How We Quit the Forest, Rose K., and Herb Girls of Birkeneau. Trenchmouth is a great song, but it sounds a lot more basic-rock-formula than anything on Thanks for the Ether. I don't think The Olde Headboard sounds as much like manson as it sounds like Switchblade symphony. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Aug 1998 08:11:50 PDT From: "Shayna Nova" Subject: Re: tour... >From: XWINSLETX@aol.com >Date: Sun, 9 Aug 1998 23:25:11 EDT >To: goths@smoe.org >Subject: tour... > >Does anyone out there think that there is even the remotest of chances that >the ladies will tour with Marilyn Manson again? I think that >would be splendid. > >Melinda > I doubt manson would do a small club tour...and the ladies, with the bad reception they got opening for manson before, would probably not be too into the idea anyway. I'd like to see Rasputina tour with Jane Jenson or Switchblade Symphony...or Voltaire, who I saw open for Black Tape for a Blue Girl last week...great show... - -shayna nova ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Aug 1998 14:07:03 -0400 (EDT) From: Happy Fantom Subject: manson and rasp... >>>Does anyone out there think that there is even the remotest of chances >>>that the ladies will tour with Marilyn Manson again? Their album is >>>coming out in a month, and it is a very interesting thought... I HIGHLY doubt that this will ever happen. If you read the webpage, it says: in conclusion, it is always requested that Melora reiterate that she played with Nirvana on their last European tour and perhaps you will ask to hear about the physical attacks Rasputina suffered at the hands of Marilyn Manson's audience, which is too lurid to get into just now. So that's almost a definite NO. By the way, there's a contest on the official webpage....they're giving away a promo. later toriniss, steve ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Aug 1998 15:18:29 -0400 (EDT) From: Happy Fantom Subject: hmmmm hey, i found this item on Ebay. just in case someone wanted 30 copies of this single;) RASPUTINA: 30 promotional cassette singles still sealed in box.
