I am a little disappointed that there is not as much cello on it as was on the first one - more electronica and less acoustic on this one. :( Oh well, can't complain too much. My thoughts: * We finally get to here Julia Kent's voice!, on "Diamond MInd." * I like "Rose K." the best - it reminds me of "Mr. E. Leon Rauis," as in Melora has picked a character and wrote a little song about what his/her life must be like. I do not like the first two tracks, they sound to me more Manson-inspired than anything. "The New Zero" is my favorite track. * "You DOn't Own Me" and "Things I'm Gonna Do" are the two covers. "Diamond Minds" is written and sung by Julia, but otherwise all are written and sung by Melora. * There is no hidden track on this one, but I guess the bonus video makes up for it. My dumb computer won't let me see it!!!!!! * As in their first album, Melora's lyrics interest me as much as the rest of the music does. It's fun to figure out where her inspiration for each song comes from - I'm wondering who "TrenchMouth" is about. Any ideas? Overall, I prefer the first album, but maybe only cause I'm a cello nut and I favor the acoutic sound over electronica. Still working on it, but there are a couple of things people can help with. If you have any Rasp. pictures for me to post in the gallery, or any Rasp. articles, mail them to kingcello@geocities.com. Also, if you know of any site remotely related to Rasputina that the goths site should be linked to, lemme know (your personal home pages count as well). I will post the personal questionaires that some people filled out, and I will clean up the graphics and stuff on the site as well. I am a little disappointed that Rasputina found it necessary to go and create an "official" mailing list. Frankly, I thought they would give our list a little respect, seeing as we are really the only Rasputina gathering that there is on the net. It almost seems as if they are stepping over what we have accomplished, to establish their own list; it almost seems like they are acting as if they could run a better list than we have. Also, I don't know what good an official list would do - it seems that anyone on the net who would join a Rasp. mailing list is already on this one! I suppose I will add my name to the 'official' mailing list, but I hope everyone will stay actively involved on this list and not abandon it for an 'official' one! As we get tee shirts made, the web site updated, and the band begins another tour (hopefully), I think we will need to reevaluate what our role with the band will be. In other words, I hope we can gain recognition by the band and help them in any way we are able; promoting them with local radio stations, or posting tour posters, or what have you. I hope that we will be given a more substantial role regarding interaction with the band! I'm searching for criticism on the web site before I change it, so if anyone has any suggestions, I really would like to hear them!
