It's easy to be depressed, specially when all your friends think it's cool to act like it. People who think depression is a joke should be beaten with a large metal rod, preferably smeared with a salt paste. Really painful. DEPRESSION IS SERIOUS!!!! SUICIDE IS NOT AN ATTENTION GETTER! Anyone who thinks they are, even deep down inside is sick. Really sick. Depression is also rather easy to get rid of most of the time. Stop thinking "Oh man, I'm depressed, my life sucks." find something positive in your sad little life, be it your favourite clubbing outfit or your favourite black shirt. 75% of almost anything is a mental block. Smoked for 2 years, quit cold. Nopangs for one, nothing. Just kept myself busy and never thought about it. Get some steel in that liquid spine of yours, and frankly, if you can't handle life and have to resort to ploys, GET OUT OF THE GENE POOL! I hope you succeed in killing yourself! Now before you start preaching about how I don't understand about it, I do. Been there, done that. Had a close friend commit suicide, and before then I was severely depressed. It's not a fun trip. I never even realized I was depressed, it took my friends to make me notice it. And i respect my friend who committed suicide. She didn't talk abnout it. Just did it. That takes real guts. -Michael ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 Jun 1998 01:56:13 -0400 From: candlesdie@juno.com (kerzen sterben) Subject: Re: my 3 cents On Wed, 03 Jun 1998 22:03:57 PDT "SaRa LeE LuCaS" writes: >if you're depressed, that's lovely, but what i really don't like are >the goths that act all pretentious, with their elitist bullshit and >pretentious holier than thou attitudes......that, to me, is childish. If I encounter someone I dislike for whatever reason, I simply stay away. No use in belittling them for their faults, and causing unnecessary strife. Calling yourself depressed as a selling point for your gothness is obviously a silly practice. I don't suffer from depression by virtue of being goth, nor am I a goth by virtue of depression. If you're fake, and and asshole, people will see that, and all who surround you will be vapid, unfeeling jerks. If you're true to yourself, and confident with who you are, then you should have no trouble finding likeminded people.
