I don't think I could handle attending a Marilyn Manson show, not because of the content of it, but because of the fans. I do like Marilyn Manson's music, I'll admit, but the whole 'mansonite' thing is getting old. At least they could respect the ladies and let them play, rather than totally disregard them by throwing shit and whatnot. I'd like to see one of them get on stage and sing and play the cello at the same time. Well....I guess if you aren't ranting about the "god of fuck" you'll get things thrown at you. *sigh* Hopefully the ladies will tour by themselves in the future and hopefully get more respectful fans to attend their shows. They were just there to jump around and slam dance and be idiots. I don't think that putting Rasputina on stage _after_ Helmet was a very bright idea, you get these fools reved up and then they have nothing else to do with their testosterone but to vent it on the girls. If they had put them first, the people who didn't care to listen to them could have just ignored them, but by the time they came on everyone was already smooshed in the pit and married to their place behind the barrier, waiting for the next loud moshable act. 3 posts in one week - somebody stop me, absinthe "the voice of beauty speaks softly, it steals into only the most awakened souls." ~nietzsche ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 1 Jun 1998 13:36:13 -0400 (EDT) From: Laura McCutchan Subject: A GOOD lineup Has anyone here seen Rasputina with the Cranes? A lot of Detroiters will agree with me when I say that is my favorite venue in this area. It is quite small and has very great sound. It really was a treat to see Rasputina there. I would not go to a manson show just to see the ladies. That is probably enough rambling for now.......
