Their music is quiet, elegant, delicate, and beautiful. His is more violence and wannabe revolutionary. They don't mix very well. The reaction given by the groundlings at the Marilyn Munster concerts should be some indication. If they went on tour by themselves, I don't know how many tickets they'd actually sell. I have no idea how popular they are on a national scale. I'd certainly go see them. The only time i ever hear anything about them is when MTV is talking about Manson. I really dont think Thanks For the Ether sold many copies...there was no publicity for it at all. I was totally surprised to discover that they will have a new album in july. I'm very curious to see how it goes over... Anyways, i think they opened for Manson because he helped them get their start or something. i really cannot stand him, and it seems like all the people on this list are devoted to him. i can see a rasputina concert being attended by mostly manson fans. *puke*. But Melora says on her website that she cant wait to do some more "recitals". i hope that means Rasputina and only rasputina:) It would be so cool...they would play in the smallest places...i cant wait:) later toriniss, steve ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 31 May 1998 18:35:47 -0400 From: Zimy666 Subject: Re: assfaces throwing things I saw Rasputina being spat on among other things by manson fans, in philly last year, i admitt, i used to like manson, but started hating him somewhere around december last year. I think that Rasputina could probably sell a lot of tickets, because like someone said before, this new CD is really going to bring them into a more main streem audience mainly because of the Ministry and NIN remixing (but we will allways know we were first!) I hope it dosen't become one of those "trendy bands" , but i'll always love them. The fine folks at Cleopatra Records have compiled quite the collection of early goth, ethereal, industrial, and experimental music in a four-CD box set aptly titled The Black Bible, due in late September. While most of the 64-track collection features previously released material, the set also include some never- before- released material from Ministry's early incarnation the Blackouts ("Writhing"), Christian Death ("This Mirage"), and Gene Loves Jezebel ("Rosary"). Other artists on the album with previously released tracks include Ministry, Bauhaus, Gary Numan, Die Krupps, Alien Sex Fiend, Genitorturers, Rasputina, and Fahrenheit 451. Also on the box set are two older interviews with the Cure's Robert Smith from 1993 and Siouxsie Sioux from 1978 that have not been available on CD before. -Tina Johnson ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 31 May 1998 22:23:34 EDT From: Pogo80@aol.com Subject: Re: assfaces throwing things i think that you can't really blame manson's audience for their ignorant close minded behavior.... manson obviously likes rasputina because he picked them to be on his tour.... it's not his fault his fans are stoopid... theres my tid bit... and so i exit brigette ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 1 Jun 1998 01:38:23 EDT From: Twigzum333@aol.com Subject: brand new key brand new key is one of my mom's favorite songs ive heard it practically all of my life me and my friend were gonna do a cover of it before rasputina but now, i dunno...seems kinda pointless i like theirs better i may still though melanies version is great its so cute and happy... what i do like better about melanies is that she has a greater vocal range than melora(or maybe melora just didnt wanna go that high in their version) ill shutup now tiffany ------------------------------ End of goths-digest V2 #58 **************************
