And Goths news Hello everyone - Sorry that it's been a while, but I have been suffering major computer problems which have rendered my browser useless, and thus I have not been able to keep up to date with Rasputina (by way of their web page) or update the Goths site. The good news is that the problem is fixed and I am extremely encouraged to read that the band has updated their site and have a new album in the works. In the past, this list has floated around many ideas, such as a fan club, tee shirt, or zine. I believe now is the time to actually act on all those ideas, for this second album conceivably could push the band closer to acceptance in the mainstream (whether they, or we, like it or not). So what could we do? I believe as a fan club (and that is what we are, we've just been..quiet for a while) we can help the band and we have a duty to do so. I know of some fan clubs that support their musicians by hanging posters to advertise concerts or alert local radio stations to an artists visit in their town. I imagine Rasputina will begin touring once again to promote their next album - I think we have an opportunity to prove the strength of Rasputina fans and help the band at the same time. I suggest we finally stop talking about tee shirts and actually do something about it. Once again, we need designs. I have pleaded for them in the past and received little more than ideas - I need actual graphics! My time is extremely limited and I really do not have time to work on one myself. Again, any artists out there, give us a hand! Secondly, do we want to become a true fan club with actual members? A newsletter? Special items for members? Can we brainstorm to create a list of possibilities and benefits for a fan club? Any other ideas? I think that it is time to progress and demonstrate the extent of our devotion to Rasputina. Back from the dead, Chris Smith PS - the web page will be updated soon. Anyone with suggestions, please mail me.
