(for those denser individuals: b4 u get a hair up yer ass, know that i'm kidding) and about my little "do we like the band or the sound" question, here's my answer. they drew me in by their sound, as i'm sure most bands do. now that i'm thoroughly a fan, i'll like them if they change a bit.....within reason, of course. i wouldn't buy their cds if they went country, for a lame example. anyways.....i think u know how it is. i kinda asked that question just to get the list talking....*shrug* okay, well that was neat. +*+SaRa LeE LuCaS+*+ bleed in your own light dream of your own life i miss me i miss everything i'll never be - -- sp, rocket ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Feb 1998 05:08:39 -0700 From: Dale Pekar Subject: similar music http://pmwww.cs.vu.nl/MyDyingBride/ This is a link to the My Dying Bride Pages. They have a dark, soft style on some of their songs. The Angel and the Dark River is a very good album, I'd advise you to go listen to the whole thing at www.audionet.com, or at least download the sample at the homepage. The other albums are heavier. Another good album that you might like is Anathema's Eternity. The whole thing can also be found at www.audionet.com. The first 4 songs are VERY good, but the album kinda drops off fast from there. It's still one of my favorites though. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Feb 1998 10:43:07 EST From: Twiglet667@aol.com Subject: Re: eighties baby, eighties. The 80's..wow..that brings back memories... "Eternal Flame"- the Bangles, who were my absolute favorite band when I was little... Dead or Alive! "you spin me right round, baby, right round"... There was a song by Kate Bush, I cant remember what its called right now, something about 'Mama's hero'.. And of course any Cyndi Lauper. ~Morwen ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 16 Feb 1998 13:17:33 -0500 (EST) From: HappyFantom Subject: Re: goths-digest V2 #22 my favorite 80s songs would also have to be Peek-a-boo, and time after time. however, i would also have to add Fire on the Side :) only tori amos fans know what that song is ;) steve "Do you ever have the strange sensation when you're standing mighty tall to jump from 17 floors and crash into freefall? but then fear takes control - fear of the unknown" -siouxsie sioux "The suspense is killing me. Dunseath" Subject: non-Rasputina content...(delete if you will) I know I should be punished for mailing non-Rasputina content, but I know there are a lot of fans here who all like many types of music. I'm trying to get rid of a few bootlegs that I've collected over the years. I have Nine Inch Nails: Woodstock 10-1-94, in San Jose 10-14-94, in Oakland Disturbed (interview) The Interview Sessions (interview) Picture Disk (a cut-out cd, interview) The Downward Spiral (in different packaging) The Cure: Limited Edition Picture Disk (interview) High Single If anyone is interested in prices or anything else, please, don't hesitate to mail me off list. If anyone would like to see my complete bootleg listing (which contains some Tori Amos) check out my bootleg page. The URL is in my signature. I apologize again for the non-Rasputina content. Thanks, Katherine P.S. The all-time best 80's song that can always make me cry at the blink of an eye, is the Police "Every Breath You Take" (Doesn't that just make you hate Puff-Daddy even more??) Thanks again. Here are some cool sites i've found related to that style.
