Hello! As most of you know by now, Jenny's birthday is coming up...it's in the middle of November. OK, ok...fine...there's pretty much a good 2 months until then...but I know that in the past when "group efforts" for stuff like birthdays and whatnot happen, they take time--hell, we get multiple months between the day we get our I-9 forms in the mail and the day when taxes re ultimately due... SO, I started thinking about the coolest possible group effort for a birthday gift for Jenny...to all who know her, just in the beautiful person she is, she has filled our lives in such beautiful gentle ways... even if you know her only through her music...still, you just get this amazing feeling coming over you like someone has just taken their favourite quilt and wrapped you up in it and blessed you so softly that you can't help but smile... so i was thinking of gift ideas...i am not into the run of the mill functional "she can get it at any store whenever she decides she beyond all doubts needs or wants it"...all of you who know me know that is not my style...and really, it just doesn't seem like a gift--like something of thought and caring. i came up withthis idea last night that i really like...some of you may think it's REALLY stupid, but here we go... how about we each take our favourite fairy tale...our absolute favourite one ever...and we each type it up...introducing it with a note to Jenny how we are sharing something that's become a part of us with her, yada yada yada...and then they can all be gathered and turned into a book? some of you may find it a stupid idea...but, well, i like it. and i think it's the type of thing that totally fits the softness in Jenny's personality...i can just see her face *totally* lighting up...and, knowing her, it's the type of thing that she would just cherish...especially coming froma bunch of people who appreciate her and who appreciate all that she hopes to accomplish with her dreams and her own hopes... any thoughts? any other ideas? let me know!!!! many hugs and all my love, stephanie * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Stephanie Maria Kartalopoulos * The Greek Poet Chyck kartalst@hugse1.harvard.edu This is my prayer for you: May the moon protect you with honesty, caring, and gentility. May the sun guide you with assertive perseverence. May the stars embrace you, bringing smiles to your faces and songs to your souls. And I hear your voice through the darkness-it's music to my ears. -J.Bruce ------------------------------ End of goodgirl-digest V1 #12 *****************************
