Would $30? $40? be enough to get him there? And I think it would be a blast to have Alice open for him - and I bet she would too!!! (tell her I promise to bring my table - that oughta seal the deal...) Sundays work great for me, any time of year (though hopefully nasty weather wouldn't become a factor if it's winter) but I'd make time for a road trip no matter when you scheduled. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to seeing him in a week when he rolls into this neck of the woods. Any good new on David? They're supposed to be playing here tonight, but I'm assuming that's cancelled. We got the massage table set up in the lower level family room! I think $30 might do it, depending on how many I pack in. I don't want it to be too crowded. David is doing better, home from the hospital. Did any of you send him a card? He could use some words of encouragement now I am sure! And Anne, any anyone else seeing John anytime soon, make sure you tell him to please think about getting his board back up! Have a great weekend friends! I'd love to meet other list members. Bryn had a David Wilcox house concert for DW list members the summer of 2001 that was fabulous. People came from as far away as The Netherlands and Germany. It was great fun meeting the people behind the posts in person. DW sang at another venue in the Chicago region an evening or two before the house concert and most of us attended that together as well. We also got together at Bryn's house much of the rest of the time. (If she is able to arrange a JG house concert I hope Bryn will limit access to her house enough that she doesn't get worn to a frazzle.) I can't remember what Bryn charged, around $40 to $50 per person, I think. (The charge included one meal either right before or right after the concert.) It was worth every penny and then some. The get together was held around the end of July and we were lucky that the weather was cool enough so that we could enjoy hanging out in Bryn's back yard. However, I would come to a JG gathering regardless of the time of year. I count the Gorka house concert you did several years back as one of my most treasured musical moments. My name tag is still hanging on my dresser! I think I could probably also bring my husband if there is room. We'd pay $30 or $40... Whatever you would need. I'll be flying in from PA, so bad weather could hamper our attendance, but we'd come any time. Weekends would be best for us - either Saturday or Sunday. I admit to being very disappointed that the bulletin board is not yet up again. The community of gorkaheads is important to me. This is nice, but that board was special. I am still sad that the 90+ song-of-the-week posts are gone. I'm glad that you are. I wish that I could read the "song of the week" JG bulletin board posts and realize that bringing back former "songs of the week" will not elicit exactly the same responses. But I will follow the "song of the week" from now on.
