Re.: shaking the guitar.... JG had a great "filler" he told for awhile about singing the night following a John Hammond concert. He said there were "sticky blue notes" all over the stage and that came from shaking the 'blue notes' out of your guitar. He said the better the guitar player, the "stickier" the notes. He said he could hardly pick his boots up to walk. Evidently, Hammond had been playing totally acoustic and had spilled too many blue notes on the stage, sticking to John's shoes. He then went into an extended (you know JG) explanation of the mic chord from his pickup actually being a hose from a vacuum used to siphon the blue notes out of his guitar, so that they wouldn't spill all over the stage and stick to your boots. One of his more inventive fillers, and one that you could actually see a few electronically challenged, novice listerners actually buying into. Great! steven mcgraw wrote: Great one, Robbie, and it's always interesting to watch how he shakes the "old" song out of his guitar at the end of each one . . . Thanks!
