The only thing that anyone uses is the forum, although I always reorder cds from the site, because I know that John gets the money with no middleman. I've linked Good Noise from my blog, as well as Greg Steele's site and the Multi-media site. Fred Eaglesmith has a list, the "Fred Eaglesmith Digest" which has been very successful for years. But then, Fredheads are notoriously outspoken.... JG fans are a little different. ThePsyche@aol.com wrote: Dear Good Noisers, where ever you are. Yes or No? I like the list. Kinda think of it as an "early warning system". You know, "alert! alert!". Songs are usually what is discussed on a singer/songwriters forum and lyrics tend to be pretty important... but that aside, I agree with the covers issue. I'd rather hear two more originals. Save the covers for tribute compilations. And, while 'Snow Don't Fall" is a beautiful song, Townes wrote many better. Lyle Lovett's very aggressive cover of "Lungs" is one of the best covers I have ever heard (It's on his compilation "Step Inside This House".). People Get Ready" has been covered by only, oh.... everybody's mother, so I'm thankful he didn't. Don't even care for it in concert. But then, if I want sing-a-longs, I wait for the camp-fire, or go to church. Rather hear his excellent version of "You Don't Know Me." Or "Oh Shenandoah". I think sometimes we want John to still be the "angry young guy" from Bethlehem, writing "Where The Bottles Break" or "Flying Red Horse". He's not. So we take what we can get. We got to talking and decided that if there was going to be a Gorka presence on the web, at least ONE of them ought to be current! Have any of you checked out John's site? Nothing new there! So, Susan asked me if this listserv was still an active link? Do people still post here and should we continue to include it on the web site. What do all of you think? How many are left on this list? Please, take a minute and respond if you can. We are just wondering if it is still a place folks are interested in sharing their musical journeys. Anyone heard the new CD yet? Just checking in from the midwest. Namaste music friends. Bryn, the music junkie and writing fool - --------------------------------- How low will we go? Check out Yahoo!
