I'm sure somebody has gone to see John recently. Anyone care to review a concert? >> I will be seeing John the end of this month as he makes a big pass through the Midwest. For those of us in the Chicago area we will have three choices to hear our favorite performer. First, Saturday, March 27 he plays in Chicago at Schubas. Then, the following weekend he will be in the area again, first in Cedarburg, Wisconsin on the 2nd of April. Cedarburg is only an hour north. That venue, the Cedarburg Cultural Center and The Wisconsin Singer/Songwriter Series brings some of the best music to the area. Finally, the 3rd of April he is back in the Chicago area again in Lombard at a beautiful little chapel. It is a lovely venue and I have not heard John perform there before. So much Gorka, not sure which ones to choose. Go to all three you say? Anyway Gina, I promise you a review. Well, all right then! And I agree with Gina, this list has been much to quiet. Should we talk religion? Or how about politics? That would be sure to stir the pot. Anyone else out there? How many are on this list these days? Gina and I make two. Sorry, I can't boil it down to one but here are my favs at present: On "Land of the Bottom Line", which I disliked when I first heard it but is now my favorite JG album: "Raven In The Storm" (makes me shiver); "Stranger In My Driver's Seat" (paints such a vivid picture); "The Sentinel" (compassionate without being sicky sweet); "I Saw A Stranger With Your Hair" (takes my breath away every time I hear it). On "The Company You Keep": "Oh, Abraham" (now you know which political party I don't support); "Let Them In" (a fav since I heard David Wilcox sing it); "People My Age" (if you can't laugh at yourself as you get older you're going to be miserable -- at 59+ years I should know). The song "Old Future's Gone" helped me realize that I was not only mourning those killed 9/11 but also mourning the future I had expected for my children and grandchildren. Now I don't consider it a fav but do appreciate what it did for me so that I could move on. Saw the "Seigfried and Leeroy" show, aka Ellis Paul and Vance Gilbert. :-) Haven't seen John in quite a while, but intrigued by Bryn's mention of the midwest tour. Going to check out those dates!
