He's almost obligated (no he isn't) as a performer to do so. I realized this afternoon that I could slip 'After Yesterday' onto my Christmas playlist. "A new day's come," "make room for a child," and "closing in on forever" all could be Christian references. Am I reaching? I could even go so far as to say that 'When He Cries' is reminiscent of Christmas. 'Looks like an angel' and 'little piece of Heaven where he lies' - yes. Actually, my favorite Christmas songs are along the lines of Elvis' 'Santa Bring My Baby Back' and Bing Crosby's 'White Christmas'. This year I'm getting attached to Harry Connick's version of 'I'll Be Home for Christmas' on his latest Christmas CD. Does anyone have any favorite Christmas songs I should be getting to know? Merry Christmas and Happy New Good-noise to you! Sam, in frigid Dakota Territory, where there will definitely be a white Christmas this year... ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 12 Dec 2003 14:35:33 -0500 From: "Hobar, Tammy" Subject: RE: Christmas Gorka You may not know that John does a beautiful rendition of Christmas Bells on a A Winter Solstice III (Windham Hill). Even before I became a Gorka-holic it was one of my favorite Christmas songs. You might enjoy adding that CD to your collection. It's all Christmas music and the title track is truly amazing. It's seasonal music, but not the typical sorts of things. It's a must for any folkie who likes seasonal music.
