Indeed, while waiting in the long line for the doors to open I saw two men selling their JG concert tickets, almost certainly because they had decided to watch the basketball game instead. Almost all of those in attendance had heard JG's music before. I say this not because a poll was taken but because I heard only one person laugh at the first line of I Saw a Stranger with Your Hair. JG wore a red shirt last night and he was in fine form. He seems to get more and more humorous with each additional concert I attend. He quipped that there must be some people who, against their will, had been drug to the concert by friends or family. Perhaps that person who laughed during I Saw a Stranger with Your Hair . . . Anyone who has attended a concert with me knows that I lose myself in the music. So I did not make a set list. Following are the songs he sang, but not in order: Good Noise - The last song before the encores. Flying Red Horse - One of my favorites. BTW, S.M., I got lots of compliments on the FRH shirt that I wore. I *love* that shirt! A Saint's Complaint Oh Abraham - Introduced this time round as a song about our greatest president. Let Them In - JG said afterwards that when the audience sees him headed for the piano they know he will be singing a sad song. Wisheries People My Age - Requested by my husband but almost certainly on the set list before his request. As usual after singing PMA JG said that he has to be careful not to make eye contact as he sings that song. And, just as I have done every time I have heard him say that, I cracked up. :-[) Silence - I thought of you, S.M., when I heard that song. It *is* a beautiful song. Houses in the Fields Semper Fi - JG said that he wrote SF as a way to get to know his (deceased) dad better. I'm from New Jersey - He opened with IFNJ as a way of "introducing" himself. Branching Out Like My Watch - Another song of introduction. Mean Streak Blue Chalk The Water Is Wide - I was quite surprised when JG encouraged us to sing along with TWIW. The only cover song I have ever heard JG sing in concert. I think there were quite a few "newbies" in the audience tho, as I heard several people remarking that they'd never heard him. Apologies again for running out near the end, but I didn't want to hear the result of the game until I could get home and watch my tape. For anyone who doesn't know, I live in Bloomington, home of the Final Four Indiana Hoosiers! Woo hoo!!! :-) Wasn't there a second encore not on your list? I'm trying to think what song it was..... I didn't write down a set list during the show and I don't really remember which songs were encores. Trying to be sure I didn't miss any songs I got out my JG cds while listing the songs on my post. If you remember any other(s) please fill us in.
