["josanne" Subject: New bootleg: John Gorka - Extremely rare collected good noise Hi Gorka fans, Next month it will be 10 years ago that I saw John Gorka for the first time live in Amsterdam! For me a reason to do "my thing" again. I made a fourth John Gorka bootleg. The first CD was a radio show John Gorka made for Dutch radio in 1994. The second CD (Between one and eight) was a collection of rarities with John Gorka as a leadsinger. The third John Gorka CD (Bootless) was a sampler with 15 tracks with John as a harmony singer. I only made 12 copies from each CD. John and his manager David always got a copie as a present.... This time it was hard to collect the songs because all the regular Gorka samples I used for "Between one and eight". I had to pay a lot of dollars this time to the sellers of the CD's on Ebay. For exsample I had to pay $59.00 for the CD Acoustic Cafi Show 326 !! Because of that you have to pay a little bit more than the last time. ($18.00 + $5.00 for packages and handling by airmail) If you want this new CD (total time 78 minutes !!) please let me know. Have a nice weekend! I didn't know I had "sent" that previous post until I received it. I am puzzling over the following part of Josanne's recent post: > For exsample I had to pay >$59.00 for the CD Acoustic Cafi Show 326 !! > >Track 6-11 INTERVIEW AND MUSIC, JOHN GORKA: (When I Lost >My Faith, Around The House, Let Them In CD: Acoustic Cafi Show 326, >Hour 2 (This CD is intended for broadcast use only) April 2001) I attended a JG concert on March 10, 2001 in Indianapolis. It was filmed as an Acoustic Cafe show with the idea of syndicating (televising) the Acoustic Cafe series. It's very likely that there was also a radio interview in connection with the show as well. (I know there has been a radio interview in connection with a Christine Lavin concert to be at Acoustic Cafe tomorrow night.) Josanne, do you know in what city the Acoustic Cafe Show was recorded? Robbie ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 15 Feb 2002 20:42:47 EST From: SMOKEY596@aol.com Subject: Re: New bootleg: John Gorka - Extremely rare collected good noise Robbie, I believe this Acoustic Cafe CD is actually a syndicated radio broadcast in which John was a guest and did some live performances. The show itself (the entire two hour CD) includes a lot of various music that was broadcast. Does that make any sense? :-) I've often wondered about Mark calling his series "Acoustic Cafe" and calling his CD that too. It's pretty confusing considering there is a *real* Acoustic Cafe out there. And the price Jos paid for the CD is pretty normal. The CDs are rare, but they often turn up on eBay for a price such as this. No comment on bringing this topic back to the list again. ;-) SMOKEY Hertz & Alderdice www.HertzandAlderdice.com ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 15 Feb 2002 21:09:25 EST From: Pfleary@aol.com Subject: Re: bootlegs Wow! He limits the number of CDs available and the price covers the cost of duplication and mailing. Jos can probably speak to this matter himself, but what is offered is not a money-maker for our friend in the Netherlands.
