As part of a house concert John Gorka is doing for us in January we have a service project happening in his name. We are collecting socks to be donated to the homeless shelter program in my county. As the song says: No warm feet on this January floor... A big thank you to those of you who have already sent socks. I have a bin sitting in the living room and it is slowly filling up. A special thank you to the Cummings in Halifax, Nova Scotia for their donation. I hear the winters up there are mighty cold so I am sure you know your socks. But more importantly, that you took the time to send socks to help someone you will never know means something in this day and age of stressed lives, too busy schedules and not enough time to help the other guy out. Even my almost 9 year-old son has gotten behind the idea. His birthday is on January 8th so he is asking all his friends and relatives to send him socks for his birthday to be donated to the shelter. So ask your friends, family, coworkers if they would like to help out. Include a note for John and we will see that he gets them all. His music is important in our lives and this is a small way to give back something to people living in the land of the bottom line. This will be my last post on this so as not to bug you all. If you are interested in donating socks for this special service project email me privately and I will give you the address where you can mail your socks. Socks are for men, women and children and will benefit the PADS CRISIS CENTER in Lake County, IL. Happy New Year to all of you. I wish you peace and warm feet. We just got back from the U.K where we were on tour with Lucy for three weeks. Very cool indeed... Send us the address and we would be happy to donate some feet warmers!
