When my son was 12-16 he listened to that non-music bass beat negative, scary music. When he was 17 he started to listen to more mellow music (I liked the music but not what he was doing to mellow him out--even if I was a child of the 70s). He turned 24 Monday and he listens to a broad range of music...much of which I like...he "borrowed" a couple of James Taylor CDs and I walked into his place one day to hear John Denver on the player.....that was a hoot. He did not like JG when I first had him listen but has since admitted that he is growing to like him better. As teenagers, some of our parents were frightened at our music too. I never could stand acid rock or heavy metal....always preferred JT, Carly Simon, Carole King, etc. Hang in there, they do grow up.
