Although the original air date, according to ACL, was 1993, I'm pretty sure I saw it during the summer of 1995 on my local PBS. Hopefully your friends at your local PBS keep old shows around. I remember how uncomfortable John was during the first couple of songs, but he relaxed the longer he played. I don't remember any of the songs from the set, I think there were only 4-5 (it's was a half-hour show). I'd love to see anything you've got. One other video I wish I could see was the one made for Houses In The Fields that I heared had some airplay on CMT (Country Music Television). I've never seen it, anyone out there with that one? It also sounds as though there may be other sources out there, too. Again, best of luck! I know my copy of the tape is very good and great to watch, but thinking about making a copy made just wouldn't be right. I do, however, have some concern about losing the only copy of the program that I have, so if someone were willing to hold a back-up copy of it for me, I think it would be much safer for my whole collection. In fact, if you sent me a blank tape, it would be sort of like ensuring that I would always have a copy in case of some terrible, unforeseen tragedy. I saw this, and would like to add my name to the list of people interested in getting a copy, should we ever find a legal way to do so. It was a huge surprise to me, that night, when I just happened upon the show as Kathy Mattea was introducing him as her "favorite singer songwriter". It's a treasure worth adding to any Gorka-holic's collection. - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Brett and Jodi Carter" To: Sent: Tuesday, May 08, 2001 9:45 PM Subject: Re: Austin City Limits > I wouldn't dream of doing anything illegal with my copy of the ACL show > featuring John Gorka and Stevie Forbert.
