My understanding from the message earlier last week was that the list would be shut down for mainenance, not permanently, and not because traffic was light. I hope I read that correctly. There didn't seem to be anything sinister about it. A question was posed about seeing John back-to-back and whether he repeats a lot of material. About three years ago I saw him at back-to-back shows in Annapolis and he repeated only a handful of songs, mostly the ones he couldn't get away without playing, like "I'm From New Jersey." I was impressed and asked him about it after the show, and I confirmed it again this year talking to him -- he doesn't repeat much in those back-to-back shows for the simple reason that he isn't sure how well his memory will serve him. In other words, he might be in the middle of the second verse of a song he played in the first show and remember singing those words and think he is repeating himself. To avoid doing that, he plays largely different sets when he does two shows in a night, so if you're a big fan like me, it really does you good to stick around for that late show for the whole Magilla. - --Jay Votel jvotel@megapipe.net/703-421-6252 votel@twtmail.com/202-636-3288 - ----------------------------------------------- "I have the body of a god. It was the Elvis song. The last time he was at McCabe's he flew in at the very last moment due to some travel snafoos. He was a bit flustered and at times just not "on." Such is the life of a troubador, I suppose. Of course, it was still a wonderful show. Thanks for the input about the second shows. Next time I am going to do both of them.
