Smokey, Sorry but I agree that "The Company You Keep" is an excellent cd. I connect with each and every song in one way or another. So far my favorite songs are "People My Age" and the manic "Around the House". I got my cd from redhouse directly and im condsidering asking for a new one. THe whole thing sounds tinny. there is also a really annoying glitch, or something, in oh abraham at about the 1:51 mark. Kaplanskys voice stops suddenly and it sounds horrible. I like the cd in general and i love the lyrics but there are some things about it that annoy me. Also, does anyone recognize hte beginning of over there? it sounds just like the intro to i saw a stranger with your hair....listen very closely...also...what was that that I just said reminds a lot of love, love, love, love and good noise from out of the valley.....i like the cd but it is very familiar musically...and not as original as i'd hoped...wisheries almost makes up for it...more later Adam ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 Mar 2001 16:14:18 EST From: SMOKEY596@aol.com Subject: Re: some cd comments, more later Hey guys, I don't want to start a "pick the CD apart" movement. It's a great CD, and I love it, a lot more so than "After Yesterday", and probably not as much as one or two older ones. There's nothing wrong with the songs or music, there's just some mechanical things that don't sound right, but it's not a bad CD. I'm finished overanalyzing and am just going to enjoy it now. Quipping that People My Age was one of his less appealing songs, John said that that space was put in there so that listeners would have time to get up from their sofas and press 'stop' before the song began. It was fun to hear his mind at work. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dan Lins Tyndale House Publishers, Inc. cdl@tyndale.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ >>> 03/20/01 04:28PM >>> One of my posts seems to be lost in cyberspace.
