Sure is quiet around here... I stayed off-line for a day or so because I caught some kind of a bug and I didn't want anyone in good-noise to catch it. Heh. I'm fine now and ready to go! Sara and I have been working on a review of last Friday's show for you all, and wow is it difficult to do! We've gotten into some really interesting debates about what to put in and what to leave out, how to put this into words and that doesn't describe it right, etc etc. So far we have; "Fourscore and twenty years ago, our...." wait, that's not it - I was thinking about President's Day, heh heh. It was a fantastic show, folks, and we are l@@king forward to the next one. (And the next, and the next...) But we will reach some sort of fruition. (I love that word.) Hopefully tonite. Sara's at the high school doing her speech coaching and she'll be home around nine. I'll have added alot more by then, so she can edit it, etc., and then we'll post it, barring any unforseen delays. Has everyone seen the updates to Gypsylife that PBBPB (as Steve likes to say) have done? Beautiful! I wish I could think of a way to somehow show my appreciation for all the work they put in to that labor of love! Until I do, I'd like to hear a big round of applause for Susan and Bryn! Listen to the cyberclapping! It'd be fun to be able to make my cursor do that on command wherever I am! Like on my desktop - just right click or something and "The Company You Keep" would follow my cursor! I recently bought an optical mouse that doesn't have a ball or rollers to clean (yay!), and along with that wonderful feature it also has two extra buttons that I can program to do different things. Right now they're programmed to go back and forth between web pages, which is cool. In honor of Abraham Lincoln, I'll leave you with JG's words from 'Oh Abraham' on the new album: I see a penny and I pick it up 99 more and I'll have a buck Abe you were born in old Kentuck' But we still miss you here Later friends! Sam, it is an 'applet' and if I can think of where you can find it, I will post it (the mouse trail). Looking forward to hearing your report. I just thoroughly enjoyed the concerts we were able to attend. Diane Diane B. First time I've heard from you! Pleased ta meetcha! A dyer/weaver/colorist, eh? Sounds fascinating! It's nice to take a break from review composing. Have you ever tried to do that? I'm starting to be convinced that it's impossible to describe a Gorka show! One fun thing about trying to do it is that I sorta get a chance to relive it! Plus, he's playing in the livingroom. (I needed that guitar tuned anyway, heh heh.) And the all important pick is right in front of me... I can probably get the applet from Susan, if I ask really politely and humbly... but then I'm not sure what I'll do with it when I get it. Heh heh. How in the world could I tell my mouse how to use an applet? I think you and I are the only ones up tonight. I'm free tomorrow so I'll be up late, and happy about it. I might just try out that pick for the first time... Okay, I'm ready to plunge back in! Thanks for the input! - Sam ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 Feb 2001 21:43:54 -0500 From: "cycle12345" Subject: Sam and Diane Thanks for your recent contributions to this remarkably quiet John Gorka chat list. I can assure you that your posts are read and greatly appreciated, even when there is so much "Silence" on this side of the internet. I'm especially looking forward to the concert review from Sam and Sara and would hope that no one will be injured in the formulation of same. Sam, have you forgotten about my key? Don't make me invoke the names of "PBBPP" and Susan in order to remind you again, young man . . . Thanks again!
