My husband keeps asking me to ask you if you can do "I Know", one of his all time favorite songs. The King of all Gorka fans, Jos van Vliet, took it upon himself this weekend to reorganize our "More Good Noise" page on our web site. On this page can be found lists of all Mr. Gorka's appearances on CD's other than his own seven (soon to be eight). (www.geocities.com/thegypsylife/moregoodnoise.html) We still have some CD images to insert but the songs are much better organized under specific categories that make sense! I also hope to add links to where to find each of the CD's listed there. Bryn and I thank Annie Nugent for creating the original list from which we made ours, to Otto Bost and Tay Mueller for their helpful advice, additions, corrections and suggestions along the way, and to our favorite John Gorka fan in Holland. The rest of the album is great too. I hope this helps. I agree with Sam - it is truly an amazing version, and when he does it live I am covered by goose bumps. I would also love to have a recording of this version. Does anyone know where we can get one? I too saw Gorka at the Icehouse. It was full, and because I am so accustomed to seeing him in the intimacy of Godfrey's, I didn't enjoy it as much (not John's fault, of course!). But it was a great show. Did anyone mention that he momentarily forgot the lyrics to Edgar the Party Man? It was amusing. He did Houses in the Fields on piano, which I also love. He also did what in my opinion was a very emotional version of Semper Fi. As always, from his hair down to his red shoe laces, he was charming and entertaining and his voice pure and beautiful. Here's a thread I hope someone picks up on (maybe it's been done before)... I have all his regular albums, but only two songs on compilations (When October Goes and Winter Solstice). Can anyone recommend some others? My birthday is right around the corner and I'd love to add some more music to my collection.
