I recently went to my local library and did a search on John Gorka and came up with 18 entries. Some were his own CD's but I put a hold on the ones I had never heard. As they come in, I am making a cassette tape of the individual songs such as "Water is Wide". They are all amazing. Again, I don't know the legalities of this but it has been fun for me to hear all these songs I have never heard. I am not at home right now but when I get back, I will post a list of all the items my search came up with. One interesting piece was a duet with Mary Travers that I have never heard mentioned on this board. Happy listening! Nich and Joe send me a mail because they wanted to buy that CD. Perhaps it is an idea for Red house records to make a compilation CD. (It is also a lot of work for me to make copies) Susan I am curious to see that list with 18 songs: The duet with Mary Travis is not such a good one (it is a kind of European song contest song) John made very good songs with Lucy kaplansky (Lucy is singing backing vocals on almost all the John Gorka CD's (five) . He is singing harmony vocals on the song ' if you could see' on Lucy Kaplansky's first CD"Flash and bone" and on track five "Promise me" (of her 3th CD. ).Another beautiful song you can find on Richard Shindell's debut "sparrow point" (Shanachie 8002 1992) John sings harmony vocals on the last song 'by now'. regards Jos van Vliet - ----- Oorspronkelijk bericht ----- Van: Aan: Verzonden: vrijdag 28 juli 2000 17:57 Onderwerp: Re: good-noise-digest V3 #58 > I think some people discussed the legal issues regarding copying all these > songs a while back and I can't recall where it was left.
