Thanks for the recommendation. > >Adam I have to agree about Richard Shindell. I have all of his cds, including the "scenes from" a blue divide. For years, everytime I heard his voice on the radio, I would turn to Jim and say Oh my gosh! Why don't I have this! But I DID (LOL) and I would truck them all out again- adding in the Lost World cd fills up my 6 player. Reunion Hill is my favorite cd as well, but I also love many of the earlier songs, Best Western and The Kenworth of My Dreams. There is something about Richard's delivery that reaches my core- that line about washing the coats in winter snow - the children never need to know - makes all the little hairs stand up on the back of my neck. Richard is on my Short List- The way our venue is laid out, I get to HEAR most of our concerts, but I don't always get into the theater if it's busy. Fortunately, the sound is as good or better in our lobby as it is in many of the venues I go to...(.yes, I AM bragging but it's ok, I'm not on the sound crew. ) There are some performers where the lobby crew knows if a certain song comes up I'll leave them in mid sentence and be standing in the back of the theater. But there is also a short but select list of performers (Richard, James Keelaghan, Stephen Fearing, Robin Williamson... well, I better not name them all because I don't want to slight anyone) who I DO get into the theater for, I just DO.. handing off money, tickets, whatever to Chris or Terry. No stopping me, I am staying for every single song, and you better not come get me out of the theater unless nuclear war is imminent. [Before you ask- John isn't on my list- but the reason for that is, he is on Chris' List, and we try to cover for each other. Chris is the source of a "family saying" we have here- when someone is completely besotted with a performance, and gets that dreamy, cloud 9, I'm in heaven look, we call it having "Gorka Face." We would never keep Chris out of a Gorka set, or Eileen out of an Ellis set, etc.] - --------------------------------------- Since it's quiet here on the Gorka front, I would like to tell you guys I just launched the website I did for John McVey. There are a few real audio clips on the music page from his upcoming album. It's at http://www.johnmcvey.com. If any of you are interested in checking it out and sending me feedback, I would be grateful.
