I just joined the list yesterday and figured I would introduce myself. I have been a Gorka fan since the release of 'Land of the Bottom Line' and have had the fortune to see him live many times. I belive my favorite Cd is 'Between Five and Seven' but that has been known to change from day to day (ask me tomorrow for an update). I do hold a special place for alot of the early songs...even the 'Body Parts Medley' and 'Oven of Love'. I have a weakness for 'Down in the Milltown'...especially live on piano. My wife and also started dating between 'Bottom Line' and 'Jack's Crows' and these have always been among sentimental favorites. Some other artists I enjoy are---Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Cliff Eberhardt, Cheryl Wheeler, Patty Larkin, Christine Lavin, Tom Prasada-Rao, David Wilcox, Susan Werner, Bruce Cockburn, Ray Charles, David Olney, Townes, Joe Ely, Martin Sexton, Luka Bloom, the Silos, Jules Shear, Richard Shindell, Saw Doctors, Waterboys/Mike Scott, Tammy Rogers, Kevin Welch, Dave Alvin, Bruce Springsteen, Altan, Leo Kottke, Lyle Lovett, Ani DiFranco, Van the Man, Chris Smither, Greg Brown, Tom Waits, Jeffrey Gaines, Marah, Wilco, Son Volt, Suzanne Vega, Freedy Johnston, Richard Thompson, Robyn Hitchcock, REM, and many others. Hope to hear from everyone soon (if there's anyone else out there in gorkaland). Larry. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 29 Mar 2000 21:28:16 EST From: SMOKEY596@aol.com Subject: Re: Hello Hi Larry...and welcome! That's quite a list of favorite artists you've got there! Many people on it that I like as well. You seem to be missing Ellis Paul tho! :-) He'd be a fine addition to the list. You can learn more by going to www.ellispaul.com. Enjoy!
