That might have been me. (I work at Outta Sights & Sounds in NJ.) We had John and Lucy together about a year ago, and they were quite wonderful. But the soundcheck I mentioned was John with Jennifer Kimball, singing things like Kumbaya and You're Having My Baby and a rousing version of Wimoweh that had the crew up on ladders dancing along- Yikes!! ( You can check that out on the web page if you are interested- there are 4 or 5 pages of Jenny and John.) I did describe John and Lucy in terms of my preferences for chocolate desert, though! It may be have been that!! (I know-- no more dessert descriptions!! Next time, sex!!) I just HATE the summer festival season (I am into estivation, not hibernation. Actually, my husband says I am into Cybernating-- when you stay indooors all summer surfing the web with the air conditioning on.) so I haven't seen John since May, but I am getting ready to post our Fall season (boy, are we late this year! ) and Lucy will be our season opener, so if anyone wants to send her messages in late September, I will print them out and put them in her green room. We hoped her opener would be the INCREDIBLE Stephen Fearing, but he has had to cancel part of his tour- unfortunately, the part we were on. So young Canadian Jory Nash will be on the bill. If you are not familiar with either of these guys, trust me, check them out!! I can't imagine that anyone who likes Gorka would not be intrigued by Stephen (deep voiced guitar god and cerebral lyricist. The day after he last played for us, I went to see him open for Richard Shindell at the Tin Angel in Philadelphia. The audience got up after his first song, and he thought they were leaving--they were RUNNING to the bar to buy his cd before they were gone!!) or Jory (so young he still squeaks, and yet writing songs like -The Flyer- where he subtly describes a life change underneath an incredible autobiographical song about the tearing down of the dangerous wooden roller coaster his mom never wanted him to ride.) Hope you are having a good summer, all!!
