You guys are in for a treat. Lucy has a wonderful voice in her own right, but she is just so comfortable singing with others- her harmonies are so natural and right, and she can fill out a sound without that need to overpower the other singer that some folks have. Of all the people I have heard her sing with, John and Richard Shindell are standouts for me. I think it's because Lucy has quite a deep range herself- instead of filling in just the upper reaches of a song, the deepness of their sounds swells together and the effect is so--- RICH. Like double chocolate instead of like whipped cream on top, if you know what I mean. >> Tay sure knows of what she speaks (and I should mention that she and John put on terrific shows -- with breathtakingly good sound--in Hightstown, NJ), but I must note that her comments about the "deepness" of Lucy and John's sound, and how their sound "swells together," as well as that "double chocolate instead of whipped cream" business is way over the top. Tay, you write both beautifully and with insight, and have great taste in music, but please try and refrain from these types of allusions on a "G" rated list. What on earth could you have been thinking about!? Harvey (who does realize that he has now exposed himself to ridicule because he has 'unknowingly' revealed what the heck he hears in harmonies) ------------------------------ End of good-noise-digest V2 #84 *******************************
