I saw this tour Wednesday night at The Keswick Theater in Glenside, Pa. I have been a fan of Gorka and Larkin for about 11 years. First heard them at The Philadelphia Folk Festival. Cliff Eberhardt and Cheryl Wheeler were excellent as well. What a quality show. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Jun 1999 17:12:41 EDT From: SMYRNSK@aol.com Subject: Re: On a Summer's Night... ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Jun 1999 18:40:16 -0400 From: "Beth C. Sheligo" Subject: On a Summer's Night Thoroughly enjoyed the show at the Westmont Theater in Westmont, NJ 6/10/99. Sorry my notes (and recollection) of the play list is not comparable to Kris & Scot. Cliff had terrible laryingitis, and confined himself mostly to soft ballads, so the tenor of the show was more somber. John opened with I'm From NJ, and also performed Flying Red Horse, Zuly, a song that is not on one of his CD's, based on a poem written by a nurse (bad description!) and People My Age. The first encore was good noise, with John joined by the group; the final encore was You Really Got a Hold on Me with Cliff on lead. John will be playing the Upper Merion Township Concerts Under the Star Series in King of Prussia, PA on July 11, and I hear he will be at a gig in West Chester, PA on August 6th. Lucky for us here in the Phila. area! ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Jun 1999 18:57:35 EDT From: SAbrams613@aol.com Subject: Re: On a Summer's Night Can you give us any lyrics (or a general description) of "People My Age"? I'm in a realtively Gorka-less part of the country so I probably won't get to hear this song until he records it on a CD (sigh). In alphabetical order, those are my reactions to the fact that you and so many others got to hear/see Cliff, John, Patty and Cheryl together on the same stage! I'm glad for you, but not for me; my schedule wouldn't let me do what you did, and I don't know when (if) this will happen again any time soon. Couldn't that "fabulous foursome" come to Virginia, or North Carolina, or Maryland, or D.C., or Tennessee or someplace else close to me? O.K., O.K.; I know that I'll get to see John next month at the Birchmere in Alexandria, Virginia, and maybe Cheryl down south fairly soon as well, but all four? I can't make it to New York or Connecticut this weekend, dagnabit . . . You are so fortunate! Yours in greenness . . .
